Hello Everyone,
I have been looking for a gag that I saw at a convention a while back. It looked like the peep hole cylinder that comes above the water from a submarine, but it had an eyeball in it. It is used for when kids pick a card, and the magician is not supposed to look. Sorry for not having better terminology, but that is what I remember it to be. Thanks, Beau Alexander

Do you mean a periscope?

It's called the Doty Scope created by JC Doty. Ken Scott uses one in his Birthday Dough DVD. I'm not sure if you can still get them.

If unavailable, they might not be too hard to make with pvc pipe + elbow, paint & a fake toy eyeball (some gumball machines sell those)
It is funny, but mostly to adults & old kids. The younger ones may not give you the reaction you are looking for? |

Why not make one that looks like a pirates telescope?

Thanks a lot everyone, I really hope that I can find one now that I know what it is called. If Ken Scott reads this post, feel free to pm me, or post if you have any available.
Thanks Again, Beau Alexander

In the Doty scope the eyeball actually moves around. It's pretty funny, I believe Tom Mullica used to use it as well.

Hi Beau:
I bought I Dotyscope from Ken Scott a couple years ago. I don't know if he still sells them, but I suggest you send him a quick email or PM. Ron Reid |

I do carry them but they are not on my web site. I bring them to lectures and conventions when I have them in stock.
Interested PM me. Ken |

Dan Garrett sells them. I use mine all the time. You know...they pick and card and you turn your back. You try to see their card with a mirror and then Doty's Periscope. Funny Stuff. Even the kids get it.
