Is this one of Penguin's rip off products? or is the quality of the wand as good as other manufacturers???
lastly, does it really break if you drop it?! |

I have to agree that it is a good wand. Reasonably priced considering and the quality looks fine. Now, I have dropped this wand MANY times but I do my practicing in a carpeted room, so no damage. Nice balance and weight. Good luck. Someday I'll get the drummers spin down pat.

Sorry I'm bringing this topic back up, but I just want to say something...
All of you asking if it can break if you drop it, the answer is very simple - yes, you CAN. But then again, and wooden item that falls has potential to break. This wand is IMHO very well made. It does have potential to break if it falls, but that has nothing to do with the way it was made. It looks great, feels great, and is very affordable. Just take care of it and it will last you! Best, -Vinnie |

I respectfully disagre =) I find it much too heavy for wand spins, the breakapart hardware has a silver (or bronze) ring in the middle of the wand, which does not look that great, and the paint readily chips off, and I believe the tips are chromed brass, so once worn through it will look a bit odd. The one is also prone to cracking, and not only if you drop it (and, frankly, if you practice spins and such, you will end up dropping it sooner or later!).
