Yesterday, I learned from Peter Lane, MIMC, librarian of the Magic Circle of London, that the most requested book to check out from the Magic Circle library is Paramiracles by Ted Lesley.
I was one of the translators on this project, and this book is now recognized as a classic of mentalism. I take no personal credit for this, because Dr. Oliver Erens contributed much to this, as did our editor, Charles Reynolds. Most of all, it was the work of Ted Lesley, and his amazing skill at being a working mentalist and entertainer that makes this a great book. Now, some of you will say that lending the book in a library will cut into sales. I believe it actually increases them, especially in the case of the Magic Circle. Members of the Magic Circle are under an obligation not to simply lift material. I'm sure that the ones who really like the book have purchsed it or at least have it on their want lists.

As an owner of Paramiracles - I have to say it is one of the books most full of wonderful mentalism for its size - one of my best purchases.

I loved this book. If you lend this book to anyone, there is a good chance you will not get it back.

I am liking the paramiracles and the kismet teleportion envelope. I have also looked at a bending glass but I have trouble making with the method, it is difficulty.
I have also Ted and his dvds and a rope routine is master in his hands and is worth to be learnt but is not a mental magic. I am hoping Ted is releasing some more of work so we can find out how he is doing his magic and his mentalism.

I am heqaring Ted is not very well now so I am hoping best wishes to him and thinking that he is helping all magicians by sharing his methods.

Ted's book is not for the new or beginer, his stuff is really for the professional performer. I know that some on the Café feel that books are the best purchse which a person can make but some things need to be seen to understand and some items in Paramiracles would be better understood if they where demonstrated. Just think of the things that Osterlind and others have put out on DVD and these things are straight out of Corinda's "13 Steps to Mentalism yet I would have bypasssed many of the effects if I would have just read them. This is true with Paramiricles, great book but maybe a bit more explaination would make some of the effects a bit more clearer.
