If this is the one Lance Burton does, it's an excellent effect.

I think he is referring to the one produced by Tora Magic and now being sold by a few dealers. Just remember that you need an extra assistant to remove the supports. This is not a walk-away suspension.

Oh it's a suspension. And they call it 360 levitation?
Hmmm.

The suspension closest to a levitation (although he still calls it a suspension) is Jim Gerrish's Witches' Broom Suspension (in PVC Book 3 under "PVC Levitations?"). That's because the "witch" is suspended in an upright position and brings her legs up into a "lotus sitting position" while suspended. Then she can revolve 360 degrees before extending her legs down to the step once again. To the average person, it looks very much like a levitation, although technically, from a magician's perspective, it is a suspension.
By the way, it's not made from PVC pipe (hence the question mark in the title). The whole exercise is in how to use a PVC pipe template to have any iron worker follow to make a levitation or suspension you can use. The PVC model gives you a chance to work out the dimensions, angles, etc.
