Lighten the frig up people. Criticism...whenther constructive or not 99% of the time comes from a caring person. If no one tells this guy how it is, the stuff that needs work may never be worked on. All critiques must be taken to heart and investigated and adjusted if necessary.
Fandango. I would suggest watching your videos and working to make your presentation look a bit more natural. There is a lot of tension and stiffness and weird movement, that creates a sort of uneasiness awkward feeling. Good luck. (Now for the attack) 10000 Maniacs....are you for real!!!!?!?!?!?!?!?! hahahahah |

I got one out of two. Glass mirage + silk. Could not get Liquid deception to load even though it said "ready".
Oh, and no I'm not going to critique the performance..... |

I still do not get why everyone is opposed to critique.
It is a vital part of the learning process. |

He did not post for critique....it was more like friendly gesture towards those who may be interested in buying it because of the extrememly edited demo video that makes the effect look soo clean...fandango convinced me that the effect isn't something I want to pursue.....nothing to do with the performance...i mean somethings just cant be avoided in order to accomplish the effect....
No matter How much you know you can never stop learning.

You got it. He posted as a service for us. He is not the inventor. Thank you, Fandango! Thank you, LilJay. Toomuchmagic: Does that help?

Hey guys, I thought this was a review of the product? So that's what I'm going to do.
To start with I purchased the trick off of eBay for £10 under the retail price, it was sold unused due to the original owner not being happy with the practicallity of the trick. I have to say is has to be one of the most disappointing buys I 've had in 25 years of performing magic. To me its only worth £15 ($26) at the most and I don't care if its hand crafted, the trick is lame. On the DVD when Alex Lourido performs the trick, the secret is obvious, my jaw dropped at how bad it looked. If you want to perform this trick as seen on the demo YOU HAVE TO PERFORM A SWITCH. Not just a switch of the gimmick but a whole bottle, and that ain't easy to do. The trick where he turns the bottle upside down in his pocket looks amazing but this is also not possible, THE TRICK MUST BE SET UP AND THE BOTTLE MUST ALREADY BE IN YOUR POCKET BEFORE YOU START. That's right you CANNOT be seen to be putting it in your pocket, even with the set up it still looks fake. The remaining tricks on the DVD are so poor they're not even worth reviewing. I also have to mention Fandango's performance, I actually thought it was pretty good. Its not the easiest trick to perform and in the time he had since purchasing the trick he did really well. I think the critisms are fair but should be directed at the trick. If you thought it looked obvious when Fandango performed it, you should watch Lourido performing it, its laughable. Remember how you felt when you first found out David Blaine had cheated doing his street levitation? Well remember that feeling as that is exactly how I felt after purchasing this trick. |

Maybe I am not buying this trick.
I maybe am drinking the beer instead of doing magic with it. Ha ha.
Think not what magic can do for you, but what you can do for magic.

Hey Fandango, thanks for posting up the demo bro... I don't think I will be getting this one as I could probably get the same effect without the gimick.. remember, you can make a bottlecap loose enough so that it snaps on but comes off very easily..What I don't understand is how come magic dealers carry crap like this or the pen through arm??

If they can sell it they carry it.... I would venture to guess that MOST tricks that an average dealer sells are not very good or practical... it makes buying stuff difficult for sure.

Well if Fandango has apparently done a good job on his clip, I owe him an apology and thank him for revealing what a poor looking trick this is!
And Alex, you clearly have gained nothing, and are in fact in negative territory by not creating a fair demo of your product. |

It makes me wonder why we are not content with the great magic that is out there.
I get tired of looking for the golden egg of new magic. I figure we are lucky if there are 3 great new tricks in a years time. Much like movies, books, and music. It's just getting so difficult to be great and unique anymore. |

Hi Havens:
Thanks for your review - you saved me from buying this thing. I nearly got suckered into buying it after I saw the demo of the bottle in the pants pocket; little did I know that this guy (Alex Something) used camera tricks/editing to accomplish the effect. And his demo specifically says "no switches." If that ain't telling a lie, I don't know what is. I will put this guy on my "special" list of people never to buy from. Thanks again. Ron |

Hey Ron, no problem glad I could help. I too bought the trick based on the bottle in the pocket video and I have to say I'm still shocked as to how much the video lied, and how Lourido had to resort to this. My opinion is he came up with a great idea for a trick, spent a fortune developing it and, realising it didn't meet its potential, he resorted to these tactics to sell it. Its a real shame as I own his 'Buttercoin' and it is a really great trick so I'm sure he's a great magician who's lost his way with this one.
How about a challenge? A challenge to see if anyone can effectively come up with a solution to the bottle in the pocket trick that really works. |

Wow, I was searching about this effect and found fandango's demos. I must say, fandango's "guilty hand" aside, the effect looks pretty bad. The silk demo has a spot where the bottle noticeably gets much shorter....yikes.
Note to fandango: it doesn't look right to shake the bottle around after the cap has been "removed." Hasn't anyone asked why the beer isn't splashed everywhere while you're shaking? |
