If you have Jim Steinmeyer's "Further Impuzzibilities", check out the last routine in the book, titled, "The Thirteen Card Dilemma".

As written, it's a cute, simple routine, in which you take away cards from the 13 card pile, and yet wind up with more cards, and vice versa. It's a 3-phase routine that isn't exactly a fooler. Rather, you're hoodwinking the audience, and they understand that they are being hoodwinked, and maybe even understand a little of how it is happening.

However, if you were to replace the cards with crisp new bills, and talk about shortchange artists and how their smooth talk is the main weapon of their arsenal, this routine quickly changes into a unique and powerful shortchanging demonstration. This presentation doesn't change the nature of the routine, but rather emphasizes its strengths and focuses the routine.

Does anyone have any feedback on this idea they'd like to offer?

I'm not familar with Jim's routine, but the idea is sound. Not quite the right section of the forum to discuss this trick. (Being a pickpocket forum and all)

Hey James,

Sounds Great! Do us a favor and videotape yourself doing the routine. I would love to see it.

thanks
