Hi, I already do peeks and swami writings with the Outlaw Wallet+Super Sharpie. A killing duo.
I am looking for an impression pad that is small, maybe the size of a playing card. I saw John Rigg's small butterfly pad and it looks nice. Are there any more suggestions? Can I retrieve the information on the spot? Thanks, Hypnotize |

Scott Creasey sells a very nice one called "First Impression Pad".
The peek can be done in real time. You can buy it from him : magic@scottcreasey.co.uk |

There is the Janus Pad made in the UK. If you are using a sharpie there's nothing faster than the Thought Transmitter.
I just looked up the Outlaw Wallet. Looks good. |

John Riggs' Skeeter is probably the smallest out there...it is a small hard plastic post-it note holder. Email Bryn Reynolds of $ fame (look up the current thread)...he most likely still has a full Invisible Assistant package for sale, well below retail.
Recommended are Rigg's Butterfly at $30 or so, and Creasey's First Impressions Pad at $60 or so.Either are what you want: memo pads, peek and reset on the fly.

The skeeter is great, but there is also Annemann Outdone ( I think ), that uses just one playing card ...

I would recommend the Skeeter Impression Pad because it is great small easy working reliable IP but the smallest IP that I've ever seen would have to be the Butterfly by John Riggs.

George Anderson used to recommend making one out of a match book. They write, you take it back, then burn up the note.

A self made impression pad can be used with Post-It-Note pads, the size is up to you.
Not too difficult to make, pm me if you want a "nudge" in the right direction. |

I forgot to mention John Riggs' Baby Hornet IP. He quit making them for awhile but he is making them again.
kbiehler, George Anderson's match book IP is pure genius!!

IA isn't available at this moment. And has never been availabe other than with myself.
If someone is selling it they are pirating the product. Shrink |

Since Shrink isn't selling the IA any more, I'd definitely go with the Butterfly. It is an actual Meade 5 Star notepad that has been modified in a way that is not at all apparent. There is also a great real time peek included in the instructions. It is the one John has used himself with The Hornet and, other than PEA and TRI members who he shared it with after a while, was held back from the mentalism community until now. It is the size and type of notepad typicaly carried in a shirt pocket. I have a skeeter and would recommend the Butterfly without reservation over the Skeeter.
John is releasing a larger Meade notepad impression device in the near future but you are asking for small so this probably won't do you any good but I sure can't wait to see it! He's also releasing an impression book and I read somewhere (I think here) that he will custom make it with a book supplied by the customer. For small, one of those supermarket horoscope books sounds interesting if it is possible. John is very approachable; all you have to do is ask. The single card, also made in a Tarot version, works via a more traditional method than the Hornet, Baby Hornet, Skeeter or Butterfly. It is an excellent product and achieves just what it sets out to do. It isn't to be used alone, however, but as the top card on a pack. Bill |

So guys, what is the best of all:
First Impression Pad, Shrink's IA, or John Riggs' pads? Thanks |

Shrinks IA is limited to lighting conditions, given the "gimmick" that is used, the IA in certain low light conditions is not practical. Just be aware that if you do come accross one, or make one up, you run the risk of being able to use it in some venues.

Shrink: I posted a set of your original pads for sale...not "pirating" anything.
Please see Tom's post above. (BTY, still available if anyone is interested!) I have seen and used much of John Rigg's impression devices and they are superb. I almost always have a Butterfly on me or nearby. Bryn
