I saw the "Lego Car" advertised at Hank Lees. I was wondering if anybody knows anything about it and if a one armed magician could perform it or would there have to be any modifications. The cost is $95.00. Thank - You, in advance for any assistance.

If it wrorks like the Crystal Car, and the Juan Tamariz car (and by all accounts it does) then a one armed magician would have absolutely no problem doing it.

The effect that you get out of the Crystal car is the same that you get out of the Tamariz car(really is a Koorwinder Car) but the method to acomplish it is different.

Both methods are esay to work with, but I find the koorwinder more pleasant to handle.

But he was asking about the Lego Car.

Is this built like the Koornwinder car or another 'rip-off' like the Tannen Car Buggy' which, I'm told breaks quickly?

It appeares to be a VERY exciting idea.
Warmest regards
James

Car Buggy is a fragile, cheaply made knock-off from the Koornwinder Car

Here's a review:

I saw the Lego Car.. what's maybe funny about this version: your spectator can take apart all pieces of the Lego Car and he will find nothing...

I didn't ask him yet but I am shure Dick Koornwinder will not be too pleased by another rip-off of his Car.

I will try to contact him and ask him to put a post on here about what is an original and what not.

As in most of the cases, his original Car can't be beat!

The first thing I thought about this routine is how tedious it would be to build and/or take apart the car, in reference to the card trick.

Maybe it's a right-time-and-place thing, just not a practical walkaround routine?

Dear Seth,
Many thanks for your private message and your interest in an original Koornwinder Kar. I was unable to find your E-mail address in your profile, so I do answer you here. If you send me your E-mail address I’ll send you a picture of the Kar, a 5 second movie of the “Crash Location” (not to be seen at the Tamariz tapes!!) and of course the information how to order a Kar.
Kind regards,
Dick Koornwinder

I think the Lego Car idea is about as silly as the Clear Car idea. If you handle the routine correctly nobody _ever_ suspects the car. If you make it a Lego one people will just think, "Wow, that trick car is great. I couldn't find anything at all!" This is not what you want people to be thinking.

That is the silliest thing I have heard! Smile Before I was serious magician, I saw Tamariz do his routine on TV. The ONLY thing I suspected was car! I think the idea of putting together a Lego car is cute. I also think that Legos are more universally recognized than random car buggies, so there would be less suspicion on the car. I don't have either car. I just had to comment.
