I wonder if anyone has a good solution for this. It pertains to a routine I'm devising.
Imagine Nick Trost's eight card brainwave, performed with over-size or jumbo cards. Spec makes a selection. The remaining seven cards actually have 3 blue backs and 4 red, but I can display ALL as RED thanks to the joys of the Olram subtlety. Spec's cards then seems to be the only blue one. Now imagine I want to start with 7 cards. Spec chooses one, which is removed, and I'm left with 6: 3 blue back, 3 red. The Olram no longer works (try it and you'll see). Given 3 red and 3 blue, and remeber we're dealing with large size cards, what's the best way to convey that all the 6 remaining cards are red backed? The Flushtration count is one option I've explored, but might not be quite convincing enough for this routine. Assume that the sequence of the reds and blacks can be anything you want: they don't have to alternate.

Ian,
You could Flushtration count just the first card. Then you are left with five remaining cards with which you can do the Olram subtlety. Or... do a DL to show first card. Turn down double and deal off top card. That gets rid of the card, enabling you to do Olram with remaining five.
Any man who reads too much and uses his own brain too little falls into lazy habits of thinking.
