Aaah, but the title of the test is "What zodiac sign SHOULD YOU BE", as opposed to "What zodiac sign ARE YOU".
So maybe it was right after all! |

Kris,
Lighten up. I thought it was fun because for whatever reason it got my sign right, and thought I'd share. |

No problem, I usually get something out of all your comments so there wasn't any offense. Thanks for the followup though.

Doug, many thanks for the clarification. I have adapted the Waters method over a number of years and built in several ways to get to "yes" despite those "micro-failures" you mention. And yes, there can be rather more of them than I would like. I will certainly look in more detail at the alternative methods. Thanks for your help.
I have found this Café remarkably helpful in all matter in the short time I have been coming here. Jack

Someone sent me this link concerning the Nicky Campbell guessing mentioned earlier:
"I think the best bit of news I heard in a long time was when Nicky Campbell - probably Britain's best radio broadcaster - said recently that all that stuff he came out with late at night on radio with folk where he guessed their star signs was complete fakery because his researchers would ask for birth dates or he would ask for star signs of the callers when they were playing a record to the nation." http://www.theherald.co.uk/opinion/beatt......-16.html |

On the subject of guessing star signs I had a lucky break a few weeks back. I do an astrology column in a local paper. I was working at a local market and chatting to some stall holders and someone brought up the subject of astrology (not me, I think the discussion was about a quiz show contestant who failed to answer a question coreectly which concerned his own star sign).
Anyway, one of the guys piped up "You know about astrology, what star sign am I then?". I was about to bluster that it was impossible to tell...and then something just "told me" it was Leo. So, after a second of humming and hawing I said "You don't have the typical attributes but I sense you are a Leo." I was right. Lucky strike. I've seen the TA Waters version but I think any such working would be obvious to the spectator and probably doomed to failure with the many who can't spell their own sign. I haven't seen any of the other methods discussed so can't comment. Regards, David. |

I have read the T.A. Waters method, and that of Jakutsch in completely mental 2. The Jakutsch method is great but I am looking to add another so that the 'first part' doesn't always sound the same.
Could someone please provide a more detailed reference for the star sign work of Ray Grismer, Banachek, and Paul Ingram (i.e. the title of the book/booklet/DVD that each routine is located in). Thanks. - Dave S. dyddanwy - if you are not familliar with the Jakutsch method it is definitely worth a look b/c the 'micro-failures' are covered more effectively that the Waters method. |

You can use my DreamSigns which is another method for discerning a spectators star sign - you can find this at http://www.magic-notes.com
Hope that helps. |

Banachek's work can be found in his muscle reading book (a really useful addition to anyones library).

I'm very skeptical about determining one's star sign by examing their jaw and shoulders. Harry R, I would think your boss is eligible for Randi's million, if, of course, he can do it repeatedly under test conditions. How many times did you witness this? Was there anything else involved, like the spectator writing his sign down, or saying the signs out loud and watching for reactions?
Has anyone else heard of this--naming a star sign without any tricks--just by looking at the subject? Also, how would the month one is born affect their physical appearance? |

And he wasn't the kind of person that would have any interest at all in attempting to claim Randi's million. Mikael Eriksson raised an interesting idea near the beginning of this thread (nearly two years ago!) that many years ago it may have been possible to see a difference in a persons appearance depending on the season they were born, and thus the types of food available to them affecting their physical growth and developement in different ways.

I love using anagrams, but in the specific case on star signs, I have found that any women that follow the horoscope can tell the star sign of a person just by watching him/her for a minute, Maybe they are not 100% right, but they hit the mark with enough frequency to render the “feat” unimpressive. Just my two cents, |

For those of you who believe that there are people who can identify someone's star sign merely by loooking at them (at least most of the time), how do they do it? For example, what is visually unique about Leos?
Is this mystical or scientific? Also, so far this has been second hand. Are there any Café members who can do this (without fishing, a trick, etc.)? |

Reference to EMODE sign test. It should get 100% right. They ask you your birthday.
"Please tell us your birth date." Dont need to be much of a psychic to get that one right. |
