Studying Ian's new book. Trying out various elements. My venues are walk around so I'm sticking to fairly rapid fire, 2 to 3 minute readings...Barnum Statements...Veiled Questions...Good Chance Guesses, Push Statements...etc.
I've only just started. I'm feeling quite vulnerable. Any advice? |

If you want to succeed with "cold reading" and "mentalism" then drop the magic and focus on readings and things mental or you will not get the reaction you want. If you want to be taken seriously within mentalism (by peers and audience alike) you also might want to drop the name "vernononcoins" too. Smells of nothing but magic to me.

I agree with Paul. Also look into a fast type of reading that is for "real". I would suggest Websters Tic Tac Toe idea and or learning about the lines on the palm. These can help you have a basis to start with.

I would recommend websters quick and effective cold reading for that kind of situation. Its probably one of the best to start with. And it is a system using palm reading..And great place to start as a basic framework for more..
Ive also become really quite good at reading people quickly using NLP metaprograms.. |

Again, for readings and metaprograms a person may wish to check into Wonder Readings to add extras to your reading abilities. I think you can learn more about it at http://wonderwizards.com

A really good product to buy is the motivational profile. An NLP profiling system that will teach you about metaprograms. Its very reasonably priced. After a while you can spot others metaprograms on an everyday basis.
I have also tied metaprograms in with palm reading and it seems to work? |

I've been doing readings for over 10 years now and it's only now that I feel a great confidence with it. I think Ford Kross is quoted in a Webster book as saying that "the secret of doing readings, is doing readings" and that is my own experience also. The more you do, the more you watch what you are doing and study what you are doing the better you will get.
It wouldn't hurt to have a "real" reading by a shut-eye. Some can be amazing but the majority are quite lame. In fact, going to a particularly lame shut-eye is what gave me the final motivation to go out and do this. Regards, David |

I will use the ideas under "Quick Readings" for my walk around. Keeping my reading brief, under three minutes. A tease really, but enough to create an impression. I'll stick to character readings with some childhood memory tactics and one or two predictions. sounds like a winning combination to me, particularly for woman, who really eat this stuff up. Keep the whole thing light and entertaining. This is very hard stuff, much easier learning the Pass or Classic Palming.

Beware Vernon...it's true some woman lap this stuff up but it's true you can come up against some real stone faces. A skeptical male can often be won over much more easily than a sceptical female - they truly are the deadlier species!
Regardless, keep it fun, and good luck. David. |

Hey, "Coins"....try psychometry using their pocket change, based on the vibrations the coins picked up while in proximity to their body....and weave in just a few statements relating to whoever possessed the coins previously...quick drama.
