The underground peek mehtod was worth the price of the book to me.
Plus the overhand shuffle control plus the specky cuts the aces.

those are all gold!

CAW, CAW, CAW,crunch... That's the sound of me eating crow. Went back last night & checked out Dead Reckoning and the Power of Poker. Wow. Well, I have been wrong before, will be wrong again, but next time I'll finish what I start befofe I form an opinion. I just really struggled getting through the 4 ace tricks. You ALL were right. Thanks!

Whether you think you can, or think you can't, you're probably right.

Do you guys think that the effects are more suitable for magicians, instead of for lay people?
I mean, I absolutely LOVE the book, but I believe that most of the effects are magician-foolers....For lay people I think that the effects aren't as hard hitting

I just received my copy a few days ago, and have only had time to read through one Ace Trick. But, I LOVE it. So simple, but so powerful and magical. Can't wait to read through this book and see what other GEMS it holds.

This is the first Bannon book I've purchased, but I've become a TRUE Bannon fan, just from this one trick.

Highly recommended!!!

Smoke & Mirrors was my first real magic book, and it's still one of my favorites. I ordered Impossibilia shortly after getting S&M, and it was another goldmine. It was a slow night at the magic shop I work at last night, so I picked up Dear Mister Fantasy, and read Dead Reckoning. I fell in love with the effect, and purchased the book so I could take it home with me. I can't believe it took me so long to get this book (it's probably because I haven't had any money), but John Bannon remains my favorite magic author. His routines are just fantastic, and what I've read of DMF is brilliant.

I passed this up because it sounded like rehashed plots (Ace ssemblies, Daley's Last Trick) but I've read so many good things plus John just put his website back online this week with a few copies, I went ahead and bought one. Smoke and Mirrors is one of my favorite books so I'm surprised I was so synical. I have a pretty good idea I'm going to be very happy with this when it shows up at my door.

He had some copies on his website on Feb 18th but he quickly sold out in less then 24 hours. You can probably get one here or on ebay for around $45 - $60
