Oasis, the stunt Chriss Angel did, was not the same as Blaine's.
Chriss was in a tube that was under water. Chriss never got wet. Chriss' stunt was more of an escape. Blaine's was more of an endurance test. Chriss' Oasis was an illusion, one that worked fairly well. Even though it did have some problems after it was shipped to NYC. They were fixed. As far as magic vs. stunts, I prefer magic. But some effects blur the line. Like getting out of a straight jacket, or locked box. I guess doing some stunts in a magical way is fine. But when you stretch it out for a week, it is not magic to me any more. And I just noticed, we are in the not very magical forum. Ha Ha Ha.

HAHA! Sorry this is off topic, but I don't want to start a new post in the forum just to say this.
In English last week we had read The Seven Ages of Man by Shakespeare. My English teacher was going through explaining how pantaloon was used to describe and elder person and whatnot (The sixth age shifts/Into the lean and slipper'd pantaloon,/With spectacles on nose, and pouch on side...). After he finishes, one of my classmates raises his hand and asks, "When he says 'pouch' is he talking about the catheter bag?" LOL! (Of course it was just to be funny...) |

Ya know...Love Blaine or hate him, the man, through hard work, planning and sacrifice was the center of another national network television special...which is more than 99.99% of us can claim. Barnum was repeatedly blasted by the news of his time as a charlatan. Houdini, Thurston and Hermann were all maligned from time to time. It's the nature and price of showmanship and, as they say, "There's no such thing as bad press." When I host my first national network special or appear in a feature article in MUM, The Linking Ring or Genii...I'll finally consider myself to have achieved a position where I can judge Angel and Blaine. Until then...higher ratings to them and compliments for their notable accomplishments.
