I know Tony, he is a very nice guy and he focuses into stage hypnosis shows.
Really he is the Number One in Latin America countries. He has a NICE personality and a very good voice tone. He has CDs of self-hypnosis but only in Spanish language and about five years ago he published a good hypnosis book, but I don’t remember any commercial video from him. If you understand Spanish look at his web page at http://www.tonykamo.com/ |

Senor Kamo is a superb showman and, to top it off, gets to hypnotize all of the hottest latina stars from the movies, music and TV - which is why I hate, er, uhm ENVY him!
;) Actually, I hold him in pretty high regards - he is doing a really great job of keeping hypnosis in the public eye in the Spanish-speaking world! Now, if you will excuse me, I have an 8AM transport to catch to the Atlanta Airport - the gig I did for Sandals Resorts tonight went VERY well and it's on to Chicago in a couple of weeks for more of the same! Just for the records.
Tony was hired full time for the whole German’s Soccer World Cup for the Mexican Soccer Federation. He traveled to German one week ago to prepare private hypnosis sessions for Mexican soccer team members looking to improve performance. I’m happy that he got a big gig. No too many people know about this, so now you know it. |

Its Tony Kamo a real Hypnotist?
I'm from Chile, and everyone knows the preshow that he does in the audience. One day , a singer eats a onion, a told later that Tony Kamo told him before the show, and paid with some money.

Having someone eat an onion and think it is something else is stock hyp stuff. He wouldn't need a stooge for that. I would question any report that claims that.
I have had people suspect similar things when I have done stage hyp. I have never used any kind of pre-show. Truth is there is no need for pre-show work to accomplish these things. People may wonder if you can accomplish what they see without advance trickery, but the fact is you can and do every show. The hypnotist Tom DeLuca used to do pre-show, but only to hypnotize volunteers before the show so he could put them on stage and their second induction would take. He probably didn't have confidence he could get people under in his early years just working cold. Later he dropped the pre-show hypnosis and just did it like everyone else, call for volunteers and hypnotize them. There is no need for any pre-show in stage hypnotism. |

Well, try this...
Eat an onion without being in trance and try to act as though it is a juicy peach. A bite or two should convince you. It isn't unusual for people to claim they can't be hypnotized...in fact it is common. |

I went to see him live once here in Quito, and I have also seen him a few times on television. He is not only one of the best hypnotists for Latin America, but also for Europe since he is Spanish.
He does not use any pre show. The only thing he does is a good five minute induction to all the public and then he calls the hypnotized people on stage and starts his show. Obviously the most sensitive people stay for the end of the show. The funny thing is that the only other hypnotist I've seen in Latin America that is as good as him, is a guy that started in circuses in Ecuador, and when he started a few years ago he was given by the circus the name "Christian Kamo, Toni’s younger brother". Sounds funny, but he is incredibly good in inducing hypnosis to large numbers of people at the same time. Giovanni. |

I learned some good stuff from Christian Kamo...
And a good hypnotist does preshow: It is just prepar the enviroment for the inductions, to find the sugestionable people, and so. Pre show is not about hiring stooges.

Well, Tom DeLuca did that...finding people before a show. As I mentioned he dropped it.
I suppose you could do that, find your volunteers before the show...I don't see a need for it but it isn't like it would be a mistake. |

Pre show work is NOT about stooges this is true.
BUT it does not matter what the goal is, it is all about how it is percieved by an audience. THEY will think it IS about instant stooging, and to me this takes away just a little bit from what we do. I have often thought about things like this but have decided that it can take away more than it can help FOR ME. Others do it and it can come off different. I am not saying it is universally wrong, just not for my style.

Good thought Danny. I never used pre-show so never considered the issues. If people talked after the show many would not believe you did not use stooges.
Still, though, it is a style thing...just seems to add more problems than it solves. It really comes down to confidence...if you don't believe you can pull off a show without pre-show for insurance you may need to work on yourself, not the volunteers. Just my opinion... |
