Mind Reading Effect: You display 5 colored rods and a small metal tube with a lid. The metal tube is held in the left hand. Turning your body and head away from the tube you request that a spectator select one of the colored sticks and place it in the tube. They are then asked to place the lid on the tube. They are also asked to HIDE the remaining sticks in a pocket or purse, etc. You turn back around. Concentrate for a moment and then HAND THE TUBE TO THE SPECTATOR TO HOLD. You stare at them and concentrate. Suddenly you tell them that the color they selected, whatever the color was that they selected.
Based on product review, seem that it could work for Kids and Adults and everything can then be examined. How easy is to reset? Why is important to turn back around? Has anybody have this item in order to give a review on it? |

It is a seviceable pocket trick, easy to carry and perform. Not particularly jaw dropping on it's own, so a good presentation is required for maximum impact.
Yes it can be examined and there is no reset per se... the necessary "get ready" can be done right in front of the specs as you show them how you want the cap replaced on the tube. Hope this helps. |

You do have to turn around and hold on to the tube while the spectator inserts his chosen color inside. That is the problem, spectator cannot hold the tube when the colored rod is dropped inside. There is a way to do it while letting the spectator hold it and put the rod inside and the cap, however you would have to get it out of sight to do the "secret thing" to reveal the color, seems funny putting it behind your back though. After you reveal the chosen color, all can be examined.. Otherwise fairly nice effect, I just sold one on E-Bay..
The effect is the important thing, how you achieve it is not.......

I like using different colored cards instead. Check out Lee Earle's Aura Cards in his Trilogy 123. I think there is a dealer item on the market as well that uses colored cards. I believe I saw the colored tubes sometime ago..but they just rubbed me the wrong way..to prop looking.
Self concept is destiny..

Not worth even looking for them on my shelf.

I found Cipher Sticks from AKA Wizard's Wands are a better choice because with out you looking, you then have the spectator place a selected rod in the brass container and cover it with the lid. You then turn around and wave your hand over the container and instantly tell what color “Magic Wand” in the container. You don’t need to handle the container while spectator places the rod.
The only thing is that I do not like the look of the rods. |
