Many of us attend lectures and conferences. I have helped organize some of them. What good ideas do you want continued or enhanced at conferences and what ideas do you hate and want stopped. One thing I hate is to go to a lecture and then see them five years later still giving the same lecture or see a lecture devoted entirely to all the tricks the dealer has to sell.

I thought Duane Laflin's lecture on presentation was worth twice the price and many more people should have been there.

In fact, all of his lectures at the FCM Michigan were well worth the price of admission.

Better to see a lecture of well crafted real world material twice than a new lecture of pie-in-the-sky never used tricks pawned off as workable routines.
It can take a lifetime to develop enough workable material for a lecture and I'd rather sit through that inumerable times than a single lecture of stuff the guy's only been working on for 5 years.

I do agree with Rick in that a lecture that is only for the purposes of selling stuff is not what I am interested in. There are currently lots of places to see things to buy. Lectures that contain practical in the treches kind of information is worth listening to even twice Smile
