I think that is way too much. Granted, he did have it mounted on linen, but does thst really add that much to the value?

No-one did buy it though did they
I've seen this guy's stuff in there before. He's not one to undersell. If you shop around there are some great finds to be had - and at good prices. I got a really attractive and tidy Goldin brochure for just 15 pounds (UK). The frame'll cost me more than that. Cheers, Matthew Blackwell |

I'm suprised Copperfield didn't grab it, he's a huge collector of Houdini stuff, and he may be the only who could afford a poster that cost more than one of his illusions!

Anything that is considered old and or collectable will fetch only what another is willing to pay. The Houdini poster mentioned earlier may be a real bargain for a collector who has everything on Houdini, except that particular piece.
I've seen collectors buy several items just because there was one special piece in the set that they needed. This happens quite often with stamp and coin collectors. I am into original stone lithograph magic posters, especially Carter the great items. But...my resources are few, thus I only own a few pieces. Still, I am ever hopeful of finding a rare gem for a bargain price. So I guess what it really boils down to is: How much are you willing to pay? How bad do you want it? How important is the item to you personally?

I remember getting the first list of duplicates, offered for sale or trade, issued by David Price around 1969. You could get a Thurston 1 sheet for $5! I'm not kidding! I was only about 13 years old at the time, so I doubt that I had $5 anyway. I recently sold the many items that I did buy from those early lists. Things that I spent 50 cents or $1 on, brought over 50 times that ... and you know what a 1 sheet Thurston goes for, these days! If I only knew then, what I know now. Even a group of eight of those old price lists themselves, went for over $150! (lucky, I never throw anything away).

It's true, "Mrs. Great" doesn't throw anything away. She still has Scott! He knows I'm just kidding, I am one of the worst pack-rats among his magic friends.
