Hi All
Anybody know anything about this? I'm wondering how well it plays with different colorur bills of different sizes? "Destined to become the new standard in bill switches! A normal dollar bill is examined and then displayed at your fingertips. Both hands are clearly seen to be empty. The bill is not folded up or covered in any way. The entire face of the dollar bill is in full view and stays in full view as it visibly morphs into a one hundred dollar bill. Both sides of the bill are clearly shown and the bill is handed out for immediate examination. Entire face of the bill visibly changes while in full view with absolutely no cover Uses a normal bill which can also be borrowed Bill is completely examinable before and after the change No bills are palmed; ideal for real world workers Both bills can be different sizes and colors Streamlined technique with completely natural and easy to do handling The “Juan Hundred Dollar Bill Switch” can be used for an endless variety of full view bill illusions. Several routines are included. INCLUDES FREE BONUS EFFECT: Dan White’s “Handy 500” Four single dollar bills visibly transform into four one hundred dollar bills while firmly held in the spectator’s own hand! This routine alone is worth the price of the DVD. Note: You must be familiar with “Hundy 500” or a similar multiple bill change to incorporate this incredible addition. This effect looks very good. I'm thinking of getting it mainly for Handy 500 which looks amazing, maybe even more visual than the original Hundy 500.

Handy 500 is a bonus effect included with the Juan Hundred Dollar Bill Switch. The demo of JHDBS at Ellusionist shows Handy 500 being performed at the end.

This is a repackage of Juan Pablo's Bill Switch which was altered by the cowboy guy, and now ellusionist is selling it again as something new.

Actually it's not ellusionist just selling it, all the other online shops have them. Paul Harris found it and put his name on it. I loved doing this since seeing Lonnie Chevrie present it. Eye-popping and very visual!

Yup. I keep seeing these threads accusing Ellusionist of cashing in on the whole Blaine thing, when they are just one of the resellers carrying many of these new items.
I've gotten e-mails from Ellusionist, Penguin, and a few other online shops all carrying the Blaine stuff. I believe Murphy's is the supplier for a lot of this new stuff. Kevin

Maybe Paul H actually bought the rights to the effect so is allowed to sell it. I wouldn't go accusing this as being ripped off. Innocent until guilty rather then guilty until innocent.

Doug is a very accomplished Magician here in NYC and around the World. This change looks beautiful in his hands and will in yours as well, with this level of instruction.
Yes, this is taught on one of Juans' videos and is also in Lovicks' Switch book where it is lauded for be incredibly direct and visual. This DVD however, gives the opportunity to learn it in great detail from someone that has great performing knowledge and experience.

Actually this is a Variation on that switch where the "backstage" work is different.

Yeah, this is Juan Pablo's Bill Switch.
I'm sure there is extra ideas added, but still. Should be Pablo's dvd presented by Paul with Doug's extra handling as a bonus I'd say. |

Ehem... Yes this is Juan Pablo's bill switch, and yes, ellusionist for the most part are "tee-ving rhett basteds", and maybe you're wondering whatever happened to Doug's brother - Bob (Take off, eh!) But in this case, you might want to ask why it's called the "JUAN" Hundred Dollar Bill Switch. That should tell you that Juan is perfectly aware of the situation and is content with whatever agreement was reached. I'm just ticked that now a whole bunch of @&^@#%!*# will have access to this.

Doug's handling looks great! Looks to me like he has added a nice clean up, but I won't know for sure until I get the DVD.
Juan is credited, so I don't see what all the crying is about. If you can't put out your advancement of an effect(especially when you've got permission) then y'all wouldn't have much material to perform! All the best, Nathan

And how is this different from the Lonnie Chevrie Bill Switch on his Outlaw DVD?

Thanks for everyone's opinions and ideas.
The Juan Hundred Change is my handling of the Juan Pablo switch. There were a few inherent problems with Juan's original handling and Lonnie Chevrie's handling that I solved with this handling. Before this handling, the Juan Pablo switch was difficult to use as a "worker" in close-up situations. This is my solution to that problem. The moment of change is exactly that of Juan Pablo's original bill switch. Everything else is completely different. Bills are never palmed so the start and finish are MUCH cleaner than the original handling. The other major difference is the fact that in Juan and lonnies handlings, the bill has to be folded to facilitate the getready of the second bill. My folds of both bills are different and completely eliminate that step. This is the Juan Pablo change on crack. Streamlined, cleaner, and more natural. Hope that helps clear up any confusion. Juan Pablo has also authorized this product FYI. Thanks and regards, Doug McKenzie |

Juan Pablo gave his explicit permission for this release and was compensated for the release. Something I applaud the producer/creator for doing.
Juan's change as written up in "Switch" is one of the most visible and beautiful bill changes I have seen. But until now no one could beat the basic issue of beginning and ending clean. Doug has accomplished this beautifully. The "technology" is remarkable and now makes Juan's brilliant change something that real world workers will do all of the time. I can't imagine a better, more visual bill switch. In addition, the bonus is worth the price of admission. It's basically Hundy 500 in a spectator's hands. Hundy 500 is not explained - this is just a special handling addition for those familiar with Hundy 500. Tim |

Hey Tim! Congratulations!
Doug, nice handling of this beautiful effect. I would like to say however, that I use the handling on the Captured DVD in real world close-up situations without any problem. I do appreciate your solution, but I wouldn't say that you are exactly "clean" at the begining or the end or that folding the bill and/or paper in the begining is an inherent problem, for me it is part of the presentation. The change happens so fast and is so visual that you have to slow the pace at the begining to give them time to appreciate the upcoming effect. The folding of the bill in the begining slows the pace and sets them up for the quick change. Not to take anything away from your solution, it looks great. I do believe though, that anyone would be able to perform the effect as described on the Captured DVD. Lonnie |

Lonnie,
I was by no means knocking your solution to the Juan Pablo change. It just didn't work for me. Your work was definitely an influence in the development and handling of the Juan Hundred Bill Switch. I just tried to combine all of the best elements of other bill switches into this one. Doug |

Doug,
Good to hear from you. I believe you HAVE combined all of the best elements of the other bill switches into this handling. I mean it. Nice job. The ad says that you can borrow the bill, for me my bill has to be pre-creased. Usually with an iron. Really pre-creased if you know what I mean. Anyway, I had to work out my handling because I was simply not as skillfull as Juan. It has to be simple for me to do it under the combat conditions that I usually work. Juan is awesome, he makes it looks so easy, as do you. In your hands the switch looks like real magic. And the solution is simply brilliant. PM me, I'd love to visit with you more about it. Lonnie |
