I do mostly children's magic and the one effect that I get asked to do, every time, is the hanky mouse routine (from Reynolds 5 minutes with a pocket hanky).

Reformation by Hollingworth is my most requested by people who come in a lot.
Biggest reaction is Unshuffled, or maybe my close up escape. Tailored for the factor! |

Close's pothole trick is a killer. The ID always gets great reactions too.

My most requested is Silver-Copper-Brass.
Best reations are from my routine called 'Six Pence and None the Richer' (a half dollar vanishes at the fingertips, re-appears, vanishes again... then is found inside the pocket of a spectator). GlenD... I wish you all the success in your restaurant endeavors! Glad to hear you are wanting to get out and entertain with your magic. - - Troy

Andy;
Good question. No, I did not get it from the band. I've been performing my half dollar routine since I was 17. I gave it that name because my grandmother was always using that phrase, "Well it just goes to show you that you can have six pence... and be none the richer." It means that even though you've got a little money, doens't necessarily mean you're wealthy. She was always trying to teach me save my money. At any rate, that's how I came up with the name for my half dollar coin routine. I'll be releasing my second DVD video at the end of the summer, as we're still in production. I will be teaching Six Pence and None the Richer, as well as 7 other close-up effects. You're more than welcome to go to http://www.magicmafia.com and click on the NEWS link to learn more about the DVD's and to read more about The Magic Mafia. Have fun, - - Troy

Well, my reputation maker tricks are one of the following:
1) Kaps on Fire Wallet (everyone loves fire, go figure) 2) Sponge Balls (Customized routine) 3) Ambitious Card (another customized routine) Kaps on Fire is great, as long as it is ok to do a fire trick where you are performing. Sponge Balls gives a real view of the magician having real magical powers if performed right. The ambitious card can also give the view of the magician having powers, and CAN make it look like the spectator has powers (containing certain routine) And Those are my reputation maker tricks, if performed correctly! (Kapps on Fire is my Avatar picture) Have fun in your magic future!!

I do a signed card to coin purse. Just be sure to do a coin effect first to giver reason for having the purse on the table.
I give special thanks to Jamy Ian Swis for pushing the importance of having a reason for everything we do. I pour the change with the card out of the purse the spectator removes the card from my hand from the pile of change.
