I found a great deal recently at Harbor Freight. It's a mini-ATA-style case... I found I can pack a whole 2 hours worth of close-up magic in the case and it was only $12.99
Thought I'd pass it along... Bryan |

Thanks for the heads up Bryan. In looking at their web site, I found the case I believe your talking about.

Mark- that's the one! I'm thinking about going back and purchasing a second case... that is a great deal and they hold up quite well!

I bought the larger case from them. I may get the smaller one someday.
The only complaints I have were slow shipping and mine had a slight dent in the front. I needed it for an upcoming show so I decided to live with it. This may be coincidence and not the norm. Has anyone else experienced any problems with them? Regan

I just got the one Bryan mentioned above at the local Harbor Freight store today and it was perfect, still in the box.
Regan, with a store in town, I have not had to have anything shipped by them, but would imagine that it is probably unusual for things to be damaged on a regular basis. I'm sure they would have exchanged it for you. Thanks again for the suggestion, Bryan. It is a really nice size. I'm glad I got one and am looking forward to putting it to use. Mark. |

I took advantage of the link and ordered the larger case. Seems like a good deal.
I've noticed several ata style cases advertised on eBay, some at great prices. But they almost always want the same cost as the case for shipping. And many of them do not include a foam lining - it is an "extra" option. |

Thanks for the info, Bryan ! I just purchased the small case. Then I bought a mic flange and attached it to the case. Now I have the perfect sized side table for under $40.00 !! Plus, it looks professional to boot.
I love it when things work out !!! |

I really need to change to close up. Those cases are really nice and I might buy one to put some small items in but I just wish they had one large enough for my act because I would buy it in a heart beat. Thanks for the link I just found out that they built a new store really close to me so I am going to check it out. Yu guys always come up with the best posts and links.

Be very careful with these. Some of them may look like ATA cases, but they aren't. Many of them are covered with aluminum or sheet steel (very thin!) and they have thin plywood underneath that. They can get banged up pretty easily. Also check the rivets that hold the hinges on. Before you get too attached to them, you can replace those rivets with screws and T-nuts, or with bigger pop rivets.
