Approx. how much do Todd Lassen's folding coins cost? I e-mailed him a few days ago but he hasn't gotten back to me yet.

Silver dollar ones are around the $100 range. I forget if it was slightly more or less.

I'm glad to know that Todd's just busy and hasn't forgotten me too... (I'm in the midst of an Email order with him and haven't heard back in a couple of days myself...)
Here's exactly what I got from Todd regarding the coins I'm ordering: Copper/Silver/Brass: New Guinea/Australia/Peru...$150, box no longer available Folding: Walking Liberty US Half...$55 Hopping Half: Walking Liberty Half Shell w/ Australian Penny...$125 Expanded Shell Sets: Walking Liberty Half, Kennedy Half, & Ben Franklin Half...$80 each Sun & Moon Set: Australian Pennies ...$65 I'm not sure if Todd would appreciate having his full price list posted here or not. However, he's indicated that he's only one guy and can't offer discounts or wholesale prices to dealers -- so I'm fairly certain that these are his prices for one and all. At least these should give you an idea. Cheers! |

I just received one of Todd's shells in the mail today, and man, is it a work of art. It fits so well around the regular coins that I couldn't believe the tolerance he's working with and how quietly the shell handles. In toying with it today, I was trying it on different coins, putting one coin down, picking another one up, etc., and I got the creepiest feeling when the shell wouldn't go on one of the coins -- and I saw that it had somehow filled itself in. I was holding two regular coins. Well, what happened, of course, was that at some point during the picking up and putting down of coins, I put down the shell and picked up another coin instead, but it took me a couple of seconds to realize this...that's just how good the shell looks. I fooled myself with it.
Highly, highly, highly recommended. Lance |

Hey Sneakers, how much stuff are you ordering?

Pretty much everything you see on the list I've posted above.
These will be for me though! One of my regular suppliers has also recently told me that they will soon be offering coin gaffs from someone (something?) called TANGO. I can't get a line on quality but if they're 1/2 as good as Todd's and affordable (in Aussie $$), I'll likely carry these for my customers. Without changing the original intent of your post, do you know anything about TANGO? Cheers! |

Hey Dancin_Carrot,
Will do. I'm sure that the quality won't be up to Lassen however, they're supposed to be affordable for the common man. I just hope they're better than the Sasco, Inc. (awful) shells that I have at the moment! I'll let you know when I get 'em! |
