Turning the bottle inside out to remove the coin has to be the most brilliant idea to give this trick the "finality" it needed. Kudos to Mr. Roth for that one. It's my favorite.

While the coin is borrowed and signed, the bottle cannot be borrowed and you wouldn't want to let the spec take it home as a souvenir. David Roth has an Inside Out Bottle effect. I know it is described on his "David Roth Lecture" DVD and I believe I also saw it on one of his earlier ETMCM videos. David use to sell the bottles for this effect but I think he tells you how to make your own on his "David Roth Lecture" DVD. Cheers! ** Bill ** |

Yeah magician6(sic)6 I heard that too about E soon to be putting out the best Coin in Bottle EVER!!! I heard by Christmas. I can't wait, it is TOP OF MY LIST!!! On the ellusionist forums, you can see tons of post about THREE Brand new Coin in Bottles that are releasing soon. You can see two out of the three on the INTRO video on the E home page.
The first one looks like a regular "plastic" Vitamin Water Bottle. http://img221.imageshack.us/img221/6080/image192yh3.jpg The second looks to be "full" and some elite Café member said Justin Miller (who apparently guest stars on the DVD for E) said it was called "factory sealed" -a sealed coin in bottle. It sounds Insane! Take a look at the still, the label is off, filled to the top and sealed!!!!!! http://img228.imageshack.us/img228/4496/bottlebg9.jpg And the third at this time is unknown. You know E, always surprising us with the best around Christmas time. Hopefully MyTurnPlzAA, it is with a "glass" bottle. That's the only other thing I can think of. I plan to get ALL THREE!!! I want to learn them all!!! From the posts, they sound INCREDIBLE!!! |

Abyss is the ultimate coin into bottle...and only suffers from the fact that it is not spontaneous...but good presentation can make it so....If you as a magician/performer have the ability and creativity to not so much to create the illusion of the penetration [which requires little if any skill] but to create the illusion that the effect is spontaneous....you will have a truly enchanted piece of magic at your disposal...I can tell you that the effect itself is a jaw-dropper and that the spec gets to keep the bottle...a huge bonus.

MyTurnPlzAA,
As a few others have noted, David Roth's version is definitely worth checking into. It's a pain to ga** the bottle in used in Roth's routine, but I've been able to do it with great results. Regarding which routine you go with, what's best for you may not work for someone else, and what's best for that someone else might not work for you. Why don't you check into all the routines mentioned above (as well as in other posts on this board) and see which ones are most 'up your alley' and then make a decision from there? hsm |

The hand that penetrates coin into bottle is immediately shown 100% empty at the very instant the coin appears in the bottle 7. Hi Charlie!
That would be the ULTIMATE, in my opinion. Abyss suffers from the drawback that the tiny gimmick (of the two in the set) tends to get lost. I've talked to two people (plus myself) that have lost that little piece. It's not a regularly available item, and I had to order a 16-pack online. Charlie, PLEASE tell me you have an effect ready that covers ALL seven criteria above? Sign me up! Doug |

I'd go with an unopened bottle.
And yes we all know that opens up a huge opportunity to work with the venue staff to make each table visit something memorable. ;)
...to all the coins I've dropped here

Yeah good point guys. That would be the ultimate. I don't see Abyss accomplishing all that.
Since ellusionist dropped Abyss from their online store, they must have something up their sleeve which may be the real ultimate. I'm in absolute anticipation for the release of their 3 CIB. Please PM me if anyone knows when the teazer video will be available for viewing. When is Prohibition available? Anyone have it yet? C.O. |

I've purchased passing thru from Kevin Parker and tried it out on a few people to great reaction. Clever idea but not exactly impromptu as it does use a gimmick. Has anyone tried INFUSION? The bottle/glass is open ended but the effect looks pretty impressive. The clip can be seen on the ellusionist site. http://www.ellusionist.com/order/infusion-geir-bratlie.php -Dan

One thing Charlie forgt to mention HIS EFFECT CAN BE INSTANLY REPEATED....
that's right no set up no going into the bathroom to make changes ect ect. I stand by what I said for walk around ,resturant work or just plain close up.PROBHITION is the very best..because you are uing the spectators own bottle the godfather |

Charlie Justice Inner circle Mount Dora, Florida 1142 Posts |
I guess I did leave that part out Godfather...that makes 8. By the way, the name of my signed coin in sealed bottle routine is called The Coin Accomplice...and yes, all 7 conditions (now 8) mentioned earlier are met.

Does the cap "have to" be "bent" in prohibition? If it is bent then it will fit through the opening of the bottle, correct? I think it is truly astonishing when the cap or coin cannot fit through the opening of the bottle and you have to remove it surgically. I personally would like to see more coin in bottles effects where the coin stays trapped inside the bottle and you hand everything out as a souvenir in the end.

Solid, looks pretty nice, but I think you can probably do this already, if you watch it a bit closer. I did, even with the Gatorade bottle version. -MB

I agree with hiphopperco in preferring a method that leaves an object in the bottle that can't be removed through the neck, and I would consider that a necessary condition for the "ultimate" effect. However, that would mean trading off one of the other conditions -- i.e., that it be done with the spectator's bottle with no prep. For me the trade-off is worth it, but I don't do restaurant or walk-around work.
