I've been thinking about adding an invisible deck into Danny Archer's Triple Threat.
In the can that holds my written guesses, I was thinking of having the invisible deck in there as well, unbeknownst to the spectators. When I dump out the answers the deck surprisingly appears for the first time. I then reveal the "thought-of" card. This card could be thought of as a normal guess just like the other guesses... ... or a la Aldo Colombini, the card could be thought of at the beginning of an act and the "folded clamped card" that turned out to be incorrect at the beginning now appears inside the deck as the only face down card. this would, of course, happen at the very end of the act. thoughts or comments? Thanks, Frank

Sounds like a confusing effect to me. Having a prediction turn into a deck of cards just seems to muddle the effect, resulting in no effect in the minds of the spectator -- at least nothing that they can remember the next day.
I think that a little pre-show work, with an impression device, makes "Triple Threat" a much better effect. Before the show, I have some spectators write down the name of their favorite celebrity. It's more interesting and baffling than something done with playing cards, as well as saying something about the spectator. |
