My wife is a 62 years old grandma and would be very flattered to hear you talk about her like that.
Al Angello PS- Whoops You said your wife. Yes Kelly is very attractive from any angles. My wife Bonnie is also atractive at all angles, and she's twice Kelly's age.

A favorite of mine:

When I am trying to fire myself up to knock on a new door, I always say, "The worst they can say is no."
Get S.H. Sharpe's Art and Magic for a big collection of mind-expanding quotations. Jeff McBride has some good ones on his Stage Magic DVDs. Finally, in the spirit of fun, here is something from "Moon Over Morocco" by ZBS Studios (a radio play): "If the prayers of dogs were answered, bones would rain from the sky." Yours, Paul |

"Take it easy ... they can kill you, but they can't eat you."
"Life is not a journey to the grave with the intention of arriving safely in a pretty and well preserved body, but rather to skid in sideways, thoroughly used up, totally worn out, and loudly proclaiming 'Wow, what a ride!" - Peter Sage "We are here to laugh at the odds and live our lives so well that Death will tremble to take us." - Charles Bukowski "I'm the one that has to die when it's time for me to die, so let me live my life the way I want to." - Jimi Hendrix "Those who dance are considered insane by those who cannot hear the music." - George Carlin |

"Motivational quotes are like spicy food. They might warm you up deep inside but the chances you you'll end full of ****"
Seriously though, inspirational quotes are great for bumper stickers and greeting cards and posters with wolves and eagles on them but most businesses are built on hard work, careful planning and sound theories. Quotes like these are just something to clarify or provide an analogy for something. I always liked the one "Find a job you love and you'll never work a day in your life." But to actually learn how to DO that takes thousands of words, not 14. |

Sorry, in hindsight, that quote has a bit too harsh.
But the general idea still stands. Hope my hasty post has not offended |

Notr in the least. A quote is merely a quote unless you remember it and take action upon it. There are certain quotes I use every day to really help remind me to do certain things. There are others that I recite to just bring ,me back down to earth so to speak. For me, I use quotes to try and help me in various ways in my magic business. I try to remember them and have them up certain places as simple reminders to myself of things I need to do.

In addition to feeling like I'm just out passing time making money, or even "winning" by perfecting my sales skills and customer-satisfaction techniques, I'd like to feel that what I do harmonizes with some underlying philosophy - a paradigm, if you will - and when facing difficulties I take comfort from having some concise and well-presented thoughts in my memory to "put things in their proper perspective." Can you live a life full of "sound bites" and little moralistic sayings? No. Well, actually, some people do - they elected you-know-who and refuse to let reality intrude on their view. But anyway, I've always found that there are a dozen ways to cut the same cake, and each one results in a different look - the opposite of any great trruth is usually another great truth - but in stressful or confusing or demoralizing moments, a well-chosen motivational or philosophical thought can bring comfort, or at least a sense of order. |

For myself, I post quotes in my office that coorespond to business ethics and ways I want to run my business to always help me remind myself who who I am and how I should treat and handle my prospects and clients.
I also use and post quotes in my cases so that at venues and gigs, I can be reminded of why I am in the performing business and it is a friendly reminder to myself to the way I should always conduct myself at every show I do. It really helps me out a lot and inspires me always. Kyle

The quote I have posted at my FT job (I am not a pro mentalist, yet) is the following:
"Twenty years from now, you will be more disappointed by the things you didn't do than by the ones you did. So Throw off the bowlines. Sail away from the safe harbor. Catch the trade winds in your sails. Explore. Dream. Discover." (unknown) I look at this daily. It gives me inspiration to work on my material when I'm not on the company clock, and go for my dreams. Fluffy? Perhaps, but it is a quote that resonantes with me. |

Your quote is the story of my life, because at the age of 40 (20 years ago) I decided to try to give all of my wildest fantacies a try before I die. You have just given me my new most favorite quote. TANKS Al Angello

Al's quote in his tagline reminds me that when I put together a full show for kids (after doing magic as a hobby for 25 years), I literally listened to Eminem's song "Lose Yourself" over and over, day in and day out, until the message sunk deeply within me.
I don't particularly like his style of music, or the language he uses, but this song was the catalyst for my getting off my backside and start promoting myself and this new show I had put together. It will always have a fond place in my heart: --- Look, if you had one shot, or one opportunity To seize everything you ever wanted - One moment Would you capture it or just let it slip? ... You better lose yourself in the music, the moment You own it, you better never let it go You only get one shot, do not miss your chance to blow This opportunity comes once in a lifetime ... You can do anything you set your mind to, man --- Brian |

Brian my friend
We are on the same page. My greatest fear, and respect my whole life was standup comedy, and that Eminem song gave me the strength I needed to face that fear with confidence. I don't really know much about Eminem, but that song was a major kick in the butt for me, and it still puts chills down my spine, much to my wife's dismay. I play that song on my ipod, in my car before almost every show. HAVE FUN Al Angello

Al,
I wasn't planning on posting that quote, but seeing your tagline actually inspired me to do so. It was good to know that at least one other fellow-magician was motivated by that song to keep pressing on. Carpe Diem! Sieze the Day! Brian PS. My wife feels the same way, so I wait until she goes to work, and I crank 'er up! |

Yes Brian
I blast it until the china closet rattles, then sing along at the top of my lungs, but I'm a crazy old man. You know Brian everybody I know has an "I told you so" saved up to tell me on the day I give up, because we all know that an entertainment career is unrealistic. PROVE THEM WRONG Al Angello

I love this. It really shows that quotes can not only inspire you, but also promote and gorw yourself and your magic business. they can act as simple reminders to treat people a certain way or to perform at a certain level or to even go above and beyond what the client has asked for.
there are some great quotes here that really are quite wonderful and inspire each of us in different ways. thanks for sharing them here for us all. I can relate to the "I told you so" attitude so many want to be ready to give to me. However, I try and tend to be around and surround myself more these days with success minded people like myself. We feed off of each other and we realize that we can accomplish anythuing we seek out to do as long as we are willing to simply take action to make it happen for us. Kyle PS: I can vouch that Al is indeed a Crazy Old Man!!! hehehe Just teaisng you my friend.
