You mean torn and restored? I use Torn by Daniel Garcia

Are you referring to card splitting? If so, I use (and highly recommend) the methods taught by Marty Grams on his DVD, The Art of Card Splitting (or in his notes, Lickety Split).

I also highly recommend Torn by Daniel Garcia. It may have a couple angle problems, but the effect is well worth it.

Torn by Daniel Garcia is a cant't miss, however if you are just learning, JC Wagner's Torn and restored is fantastic as well as David Williamson's Torn and restored transposition.

You could also pick up the pre-release 'Oops!' deck being offered on the Café right now. It's a lot of fun, and you get 112 cards for ten bucks. That's over two years worth of Mismade Cards tricks if you perform once a week!
(BTW, I am not affiliated with the guy who sells these in any way. I just think they're pretty cool.)

I advise you start with Paul Harris' as it is great especially for learning to be convincing with doing something that you really aren't in a casual maner.
Then JC Wagners Piece at a Time, and THEN Guy Hollingworth's Reformation. Then go get Torn. This may sound backwards going from Reformation to Torn, but I suggest you learn Wagner's and then Guy's as one is strongly built onthe other, and THEN look at Torn to be able to truely appretiate the ideas that Garcia brings to the table. Then I would suggest applying Garcias touches on his first piece to all the restorations in Reformation and you will have yourself a beauty. But by all means start with Harris' and Wagner's, then move onto the heavy hitters. I suggest anyone interested in a T&R at least once make the effort to learn, or study Hollingworth's. It is a true extreem full out T&R. Then move onto things like Torn and take from them what you can. Although I think that Daniel did a great job with Torn, it is the piece as a whole that starts to loose. Simply because he starts off so greatly with the first piece and then each piece becomes less visual and that is the weakness. So as I said, Learn the others first, understand the basics and where the structures come from, and then go onto something like Torn and build on it with what you have learnt from the others. Or if you really want to do the work, do what I did initially, Build on Reformation with the ideas from Torn. Basically you'll end up with reformation, but with more visual restorations.

The only torn and restored card I use right now is Paul Harris's Ultimate Rip Off. I know, I know, you don't restore the last piece so it's not as strong... Bull. Especially if you don't present the effect as a torn and restored. If you set it up to be another kind of effect, the restoration at the end blows people away. Plus it's easy to do, can be done surrounded, and you only need one card.

I know it's almost heresy anymore, but I'll still take "Ripped and Restored."

Most torn and restored cards are great in their own way. I started with Lovick's Reparation and then went to Torn after I saw Danny perform it at a lecture.
I would love to learn Guy Hollingworth's version. What source is it in? _Zim

Immaculate connection, osmosis, torn, ultimate ripoff, forgery... the list goes on. come to think of it, I do a lot of card effects where I rip the card, it's something different that people don't see everyday and feel weird when seeing it, kind of like when you ask people to sign their name on a card and they say "are you sure? but it will ruin your deck" oh if only they knew.
