I found that if I take out the promo cards and jokers, I can safely fit 8 additional cards into a Bicycle box alongside the regular deck. I figure if I add just the right mix of gaffes and/or extra cards, I should be able to do HUNDREDS of packet and rigged-deck tricks with just these few cards. The question is: what's the right mix?
Right now, this is what I've got (the deck is red): (1) Blank-faced card, red back. (2) Blank-backed card, face 'A'. (3) Double-faced card, faces 'A' and 'B'. (4) Blue-backed card, face 'A'. (5) Duplicate red-backed card, face 'B'. (6) Double-backed card, red/blue. (7) Double-backed card, red/red. (8) Double-faced card, face 'C' both sides. What would you change? (I would probably switch out #8's face 'C' for a double-face with face 'A' or 'B' if I had the right gaffes on hand.) What are the biggest killer effects you could perform with this mix of cards?

Aren't 6 and 7 the same thing?

Card 6 has one red back and one blue back. Card 7 has two red backs.

Oops, I read red/blue, blue/red. Darn these tired eyes!

Hi airship,
The "right mix" depends on your routines. There are only two that I would consider at any given time. These would not be in the box but switched in during another routine. -Double-backed card, same both sides. "Two Signed Card Transposition" from Collected Almanac or Marucci's "Card to Wallet". -Double-backed card, red/blue. A routine of my own that I call "Turn, Turn, Turn". Not necessarily killers but fun to do. -Double-faced card, faces 'A' and 'B'. I will rarely leave this in the box and ask someone to name a card. I have two chances and could get lucky. |

LOL, Jaz, I hadn't thought of that last one! You've got about a 5% chance to hit, so why not?
