Does anyone do Ten by Richard Sanders? All the cards change at the end as in NFW. The cards do not flip over 1 at a time like NFW so the routine is shorter, but 2 of the 4 cards are handled by the spectator during the effect. I think that a spectator is less likely to ask to examine the cards in your hand when they themselves are holding 2 of the cards that changed from Jokers to Tens! Any comments? Any workers out there that have had success with Ten?

I have Ten, and I love it.
Check out the Super Cards DVD by Richard Sanders. Super Duper Jumping Gemini is my favorite. I also have NFW, I like the "10" style card tricks better. I think they are easier, and have just as much bang for the spectator. You may be right about the spectator being less likely to suspect anything if they held 2 of the cards. My 2 cents. Later PW
After much soul searching about a signature, I decided not to have one.

I like the fact that you can say that Jokers are WILD, so you change them to the 4 Aces

Is there a demo of Ten anywhere? I'd be interested in seeing it.

Is Ten a new effect? I can't find it on his website.
For those who believe, no explanation is necessary. For those who do not, none will suffice.

There is also a stand-alone version of Ten (with the gaffed cards), it's not on his website, though.

How many Magicians does it take to advertise a trick? Three.. One to steal the trick. One to steal HIS trick. And one to write a good review.

Yes, the preparation of NFW is not the same as the ten effect though you use the same cards. All who know the secret of one of the tricks will hopefully understand what I mean.
I liked most of the ideas on the DVD Supercards, Richard Sanders was my first international lecturer I have seen when I started my magic career so he really influenced me. What I do not understand is the idea behind the effect ten. Why should I show Jokers how turn to ten? I could not find a plausible story but the effect in the hand of the spectator worked fine. Now as I am producing my own gaffed cards and even complete magic tricks I realized an effect called Coloring Butterflies that implements the principle of both effects but is also suitable for younger children and works great on women Here you can find a video of the effect http://www.card-shark.de/coloring_butterflies_eng.swf

If you guys like Ten and NFW, you should check out Jason Alford's twixter, it's a killer especially with Joel Givens addition in the book Cyber Sessions.

Isn't Ten just Double Back with a different name?

No, completely different effect. I like the sound of Jason Alford's twixter but nothing comes up on google.

I posted earlier that I invented the effect Coloring Butterflies. B/W caterpillars turn into colorful butterflies. I now have a new idea as I found a special butterfly that comes flat and fly away when you open an envelope for instance. It is propelled with a rubber band.
So my idea: I turn over the cards but one of the cards is blank. The caterpillar is missing. So I point to a wallet or something like that that I placed on the table earlier. The spectator should open it and the last butterfly flies away in a big surprise. What do you think about the idea? Christian

Twixter is great! You have good taste. Also check out John Guastaferro's Tailspin from the Brainstorm DVD's.

Richard Sander's Ten is an awesome effect, along with the other tricks he showed at the lecture I saw him at a couple years ago. The secret behind those tricks is so good and leaves you ending extremely clean while also eliminating awkward/suspicious counting of the cards.

Then show the first 2 Jokers (if you know the Ten routine you'll know what I mean). Then show that the "other 2 Jokers jumped from your hands to my hands". Then laugh and say "you must be thinking that I am using 4 Jokers" but then show the 4 Aces. Works great |

I would be worried about the reset for repeat performances like in a walk around or restaurant situation..... Other than that, please let me know how it works out and if you : 1.need someone to test the product for you OR 2.if you will release something like this for sale. Cheers, JPV
