What suggestions do you have for removing the painted stenciling of some other act's name off of a newly acquired ata case?
Thanks in advance. |

Depending on the material used in the case, there is some new spray paint for plastic furniture that may be your solution. Getting paint off often changes the texture of the material. Painting over it may work better.

I have also had some success for my cases using Krylon Plastic paint (Home Depot - CAN$8 a can) - it works on just about anything, comes in tons of great colours (although I am always drawn to black) and is tough as nails.

Hey Chris, I use Goof Off...Spray it on let sit for a bit and wipe off. Use an old towel or something because you WILL ruin it....but the case will come out looking new with no paint on it....good luck.

Thanks Robert! I'd never heard of that before.

Follow-up: Robert's suggestion on the Goof Off spray was great. It removed the stenciled on paint, and left the ata case's laminate alone. I was able to re-paint the case with my name, and it now looks like it has always belonged to me! Yea!

Any idea of the product will damage fiberglass?
Thanks, Alan |

Robert,
Thanks for the suggestion on goof off as well. I've always been a paint over guy, but your method is FAR superior and well worth the extra time. Thanks for that post! Jon Petz
