Aldo Colombini has a new book of impromtu card magic, "Simply Improm2." Can anyone offer a review or information other than the basic description? Thank you for your help!

Hello Clusters,
It's listed on Murphy's site--and now by many online retail dealers including MJM and Hocus Pocus. Tom |

Having just received my book (together with Aldo’s new ”Snake Eyes” booklet”) yesterday I’ll give you my first impression of it.
Must say I really love the feeling of browsing around a new shock full collection of GOOD self-working card magic. Don’t know if it’s just my imagination, but some way this book feels to be even better than the first one. The 101 effects have, the same way as in the first, been sorted into categories as follows: -The Four Aces -Amazing Coincidences -Baffling Revelations -Court Cards -Gambling Tricks -Lie Detector -Mental Discoveries -Red and Black Cards -Reversed Card Effects -Spelling Effects -Telephone Tricks -Two Selected Cards -Unique Card Effects -Sleights and Subtleties What I especially like is Aldo’s way of always crediting the originators and giving references to where the effects originally appeared. Some of the effects are taken directly from other, today hardly obtainable books or magazines. While other effects are Aldo’s improvments of already existing routines. If you, as me, already have most of the books and e-books by Peter Duffie, you’ll discover some of the effects have been taken directly from them. To me this is not really a problem as it helps to focus on what I otherwise probably would have risked to look by in the myriad of Duffie routines. So what more can I say than…BUY IT…you will not regret it! By the way the same goes for the “Snake Eyes” booklet, which is also excellent!! All the Best Magnus |

This is an excellent book !! I enjoy it a lot
Nothing to do with Karl Fulves self working series (I have 3 of those but could not find a good enough trick). There is for example 2 version of OOTW; one which is one of my favorite trick (I knew a similar version already, but this one is pretty close). All impromptu ! I found 2 tricks which is already classified in my best off; one which I have no idea how it work (with no dealing or move that may look like a selfworking trick). I give more details when I find time but I personnaly classified it in a must have. (Now, I just need to buy the first volume !) Nicolas |

By the way there is an interesting story about the simplicity and the self-working side of the effects provided in this book.
Aldo Colombini showed some of the tricks in this book at the last 2006 IBM convention in Miami.Everything showed by Mr colombini went well.At some time of his lecture he invited Rachel Wild from Wild magic and then Yvan Amodai ( IBM award wining close-up cup) .They both shared a card trick in the book. Rachel and Yvan , both SCREWED UP the trick..... So...not always that simple ...to do self-working card tricks!!! |

I think it's a GREAT book! Of course, I'm a bit biased, as I am a friend of Aldo's (he wrote the introduction to a couple of my books!),as well as some of the other contributors, and one of my routines is included in this compilation ("Two for Free" on page 100).
Even so, if you're looking for strong card magic that is easy of execution, I can't imagine you'd be disappointed with this book!
