Hi All,
Does somebody know, for Wayne's "Quarter thru soda-can" (performed by Criss Angel), can we give the SEALED soda-can with the quarter still inside it to the spectator to be inspected? I mean, can the spectator be the one who OPENS the SEALED soda-can and try to take the quarter out? So far I saw in the video demo that it's always the performer who opens the soda-can first, not the spectator. And it claims that the spectator, not the magician, can be the first person to try to remove the coin from the OPEN can when they get home. So, the can is already OPEN. Thanks a lot |

Thanks tophatter. I think I know the secret then
It would be much easier if we use coins that is smaller than quarter, right? I thought that we can give the SEALED can to the spec. I don't mean to be rude, but I'm just wondering, if it is what I think it is, what makes it special? I think Kevin's Passing Thru is harder to guess. But anyway I read the comment that Kevin's effect is not really impromptu as Quarter thru Soda Can. Thanks |

Read through the forums. You will learn that its not the unexplainable to you that makes a trick great, but rather what is unexplainable to the audience.

Nicholas:You may think you know the 'secret'..that's fine. However,if you do not purchase the DVD that explains the path to get there, you will never realize the beauty of this effect.[I certainly hope you are not 'fishing' around for methods and secret's of marketed effects].
This is a Great routine, but it takes some work to make it look Magical.(like anything else worthwhile) Rich |

The dvd is worth buying and it's not necessary for the spec to open the can to improve the trick. This one has killed every time, one of my best magic purchases.

Hi Guys,
Thanks for the reply. For niva: Thanks for the advice. It's nice. For PaleoMagi: Please don't get me wrong, I only perform magic in the office, and since my audiences are engineers, they strive to "solve" the magic secret. Since I imagine when I perform this Quarter to Soda Can trick they will say "Let me shake the sealed-can to see if I can still hear the quarter inside", so that's why I came up with this question. For bg: Thanks for the advice. After all, I think I should be able to control the audiences Thanks guys! |

Ryu, the effect is so perfectly elaborated, you prove the quarter is inside the can without opening, you can open the can in the face of the spectator for he to see you fairly open it, he can take the can and himself drop the inside to see his quarter. I have done this trick for tough audiences and I have never been caught, everybody is sure the quarter is inside from the beggining to the end. Buy this trick, there is a lot to learn on it.
Regards

I've found that scientists and engineers are some of the easiest types of people to fool. They know more about how the real world works than most people do, and you can use that knowledge against them. Don't pause long enough between you shaking the can and opening it to let them ask you if they can shake it. I think that you're worrying unnecessarily.

I totally agree Larry.I just don't envy Nicholas having to deal with what probably is a bunch of very intelligent 'smart asses',when all he probably wants to do is entertain them and have some fun. Thus TGIF. |

If you ever allow ANY audience member to dictate your show then you are performing poorly... that simple. Even just showing your buddies a trick at lunch, YOU need to be in control.
So obviously with Sinful you donot say "Hey look, I'm going to put this quarter through this can". You just do it and then you move from one step to the next seamlessly, by the time they realize what has happened you already have the can opened. Obviously if you could give a SEALED can out with a signed quarter inside you would be like Jesus or somehting... be realistic. Sinful is an incredibly strong trick and will either fool anyone or at the bare minimum make them think you are a *** good magician. |

Hi Guys,
Some of you are so funny Anyway, thanks a lot for the support and invaluable advices. Absolutely I will buy the trick and try to make my performance better so that I am the one who control audiences, not them. And I will use all of your advices. Thanks! |

Don't know if anyone will see this, but, I just purchased Coin in Soda Can yesterday for 40.00 Canadian, being I'm a Canuck.
I kinda already knew how it was done, but wanted to learn Wayne's 'finese' on it. It was 40.00 well spent, even if only for 1 trick. This is one of the most amazing Impromptu tricks I've seen, in my 40 years of playing with magic. The handling is beautiful. The effect kills, as you've seen from the demos. Now, to buy some soda cans, get in front of the mirror and PRACTICE PRACTICE PRACTICE. This effect deserves LOTS of practice. Highly recommended!!! Keep em coming Wayne............ BEST.....smitty |

Uh oh, after reading these glowing reviews I guess something else to put on the list of tricks to buy, which is getting longer by the day. Thanks to everyone who posted for turning me on to this.

Yeah, I love this too and I literally performed it for an audience of 5 about 5 hours ago. You're right Smitty, practice, practice, practice, as it's the only way to turn it from a neat trick into the minor miracle that it can appear to be.

If you wanted to give them the "sealed can" impression. You can do sinful first and then show them other coin thru bottle effect. Amazingly some people will "remember" that sinful is done with a sealed can too! At worst, they still impressed by the coin thru bottle tricks that follow.
