I'm looking for a large production of candy, maybe 100 peices. Besides using dove pans & square circles, what would be some other ways of producing this large of a load? I prefer a visual production as well, but am open to all suggestions. Thanx in advance - aaron

Dan Harlan has a production of suckers from an empty bag in his "Pack Small Play Big" children's party video.
Suckers are cheap, and the bag and gimmick is made from several gift bags or even a paper bag from a grocery store. Total price of trick: < $5. |

I use the Funhouse from Wolf Magic to do this.

Another idea is to put real gum in an ABC Recombobulator, which I think Paraguppie gave the idea to me, or Steve Thomas, one of the two any way.
This works real well, and you can get 100 peices of gum in there I think. |

With a Double Load Pagoda you could produce a large load.

Wrap them in a silk and steal them as a load like a would a bunny.gather up all the silks release the candies so they bubble out of the top of the silks like a volcano you can regulate the speed as you feel right have an open parasol (which you could also produce for them to fall into

Phillip, I just read your idea, and thought "what a great way to produce treasure!". Thanks for your great ideas.

HI potty,
if you want to easier regulate the flow of the candy falling sew the silk into a bag which has a narrower opening at the top, squeezing and gathering up the load bag under the cover of the other silks or perhaps after a blendo will regulate the speed of the erupting candy also you would forget the parasol and have your treasure fall into a chest I assume. phillip |

How about doing one of those coin bucket trick ( forget the name, misters dream?) but with candy.
or Do a trick where the kids will be expecting a rabbit, but produce empty candy wrappers (say he ate them all), bring them to a change bag and make them unopened.

You may want to use a Crystal Silk Cylinder. After having produced a series of silks, place them into the tube and cover it with the cylinder. The kids yell the magic words and, when you lift off the cylinder, the silks have been replaced withe a tube full of candy.
This item is made by Mak Magic and is carried by most magic dealers. It's a quality item that is designed to last, but it's not overly expensive. The best feature about the Crystal Silk Cylinder is that it's extremely angle proof. Kent

The late Bob McAllister once sold a fun routine called "Chocolate-chip Cookie Classic".
The cookies were seemingly tossed into an empty paper bag in a way where the audience had some doubts that this was actually happening. At the end the bag was emptied and several edible chocalate chip cookies spilled out onto a plate. Unfortunately I haven't found any source for this but it could work with candy. Another idea is to use the "Lollipop Trick". End as usual and make a bag switch as you walk past your table. PM me if you want more details. Other options are a 'Change Bag' or 'Devil's Napkin' (maybe two even). And yet another idea. Use the mat and ideas from the "Chinese Egg Bag" trick. The candy could be in a container. |

How about the old faithful dove pan.
Put pictures of strawberry---cherry---grapes, ect. Put the cover on and (Abracadabra)--- candies (Lollipops). Be careful about handing out candies to the children. It could come back to bite you if. Richard Lyn. |

I can’t imagine how producing candy for the children would be a good thing. What makes you want to do this? Are you trying to start a riot?

To expand on Phillip's idea, if you need to produce more than the amount of candy that can be in a load, put some candy in the parasol, top hat etc.

Wow, a ton of great ideas. Thanks folks.
I really like the silk cylinder idea but there is a lot here for me to investigate and see what works best. Andy, your concern over why I want to do this is easy- this is for a controlled situation where the candy is the "sponsor" of the event, so I guess what makes me want to do this is that is what the event is for and why I am hired. |
