Osterlind.
Stigmata is a good trick, and the Stigmata DVD goes into a lot of detail; but Osterlind gives you enough detail - and plenty of other good magic too. |

Whoa....El Mystico transmitting his thoughts to Kamus like that is rather scary.
Both dvds are good, but I would go with Osterlind's. |

I'd go with Osterlind. Stigmata is ok but MM 3 has other effects that I think are as/or more powerful and more usable such as: Spoon Bending, Radio Sum Total, The Nail Writer, Lottery Effect, Cell Phone Effect.
Stigmata only teaches one trick, 3 (If memory serves me right) different versions, plus the cut and a force that Wayne personally uses. I like the Bonus in which you learn that you could memorize a card in your forehead! As MC said, Osterlind is a genius. |

The tricks I do, are mostly impromptu and with almost no preperation. A lot of card tricks and manipulation is what I do a lot. I've got Osterlind's volume 1 & 2. I think he's brilliant, I am convinced that's its an enforcement in my knowledge of magic. But to be honest, I rarely do the effects. It's not exactly my style. So that's reason why I am still doubting.

Does Stigmata introduce anything new? A new technique? I first learned it off Banachek's Psi series but I have NEVER gotten it to work. My skin tone or something is just wrong. I can jab my arm like I'm being nailed to the stake and it doesn't show.
I'd love to use this effect, but it would have to be with some type of modified technique... acid maybe... napalm... |

If you removed the explanations from Osterlind's DVD's they'd still be worth every penny. What you learn from Osterlind's performances and how he works with an audience is more valuable than any effect.
I'm convinced Osterlind could do an hour of rubber band magic and his audience would still be entranced and delighted. |

In Richard Osterlind's MM Vol. 3, many killer effects are in this DVD. For instance, Change Of Mind, Radio Sum Total, Uncanny, Spoon Bending, and Bill In Cigarette. I don't have Stigmata so I can't compare. But I really think you can't go wrong with Richard Osterlind's material.
