Hi,
I was wondering if anyone have seen these videos. Rick Maue's Book of Haunted Magick is really good. I also saw these 2 videos at Misdirections. I was wondering what you guys think of then. I searched and didn't see any reviews on these. Maue, Rick - Deceptions A Collection Of Intimate Magic and Theatrical Mentalism This video contains seven items of deception including mind reading effects, seance routines and other pieces of unusual magic. All of these routines are well within the reach of even a beginning magician, but don't take that to mean the material isn't strong. In addition, each effect can easily be modified to fit any performance style or setting. Running Time: 101 Minutes Maue, Rick - Haunted Magick Video A Collection Of Easy-To-Do Haunted Magical Effects For Any Spooky Occasion This video is not just for magicians, it was also created for people that own haunted attractions or hold Halloween parties and for everyone that would like to learn how to perform some Haunted Magick to entertain and possibly frighten family and friends. On this video you will find all the details on how to create eight different effects to send chills up and down the spines of your guests. Thanks |

I have watched both but Deceptions is by far my favorite. Rick's thinking is amazing and inspiring. Tony |

Hi Tony,
Thanks for your input. And also your PM By the way, these descriptions claim that they are intended for beginner's. Is it true? Can you provide a short review? I am very interested in these videos Phil |

Deceptions is for all levels, but the more advanced, the more you will get out of it.
The material is workable and real world applicable. The much discussed TERASABOS is performed and explained on this tape. There are many other effects, and a discussion as to how and why to perform them, his discussion on the drawing duplication is very interesting. Some of the effects move from mentalism into the bizarre. Haunted Magic is a tour through the Haunted Chamber and the magic that was done there. The magic done here is also workable by all levels of skill. Many of the effects use Tarot, but not all of them. My memory is a bit foggy, so I'll not go any further on this one. I have not watched either of these in a long time, so I am not qualified to properly review them. But I do hope that what I did write helps. Tony |

Rick's stuff is really good and he is a great guy, who has been more than willing to help me out with my own projects. I think he said he's got some new videos coming out soon. Plus Occams Magic should be out soon. And while we're on the subject if you ever get a chance to see his lecture make sure you make every effort to attend, its great.
Cant speak highly enough of the man, you really cant go wrong. |

Hi Tony,
Thanks. It does help a lot. These seems to be very interesting videos. I haven't seen a lot of reviews on this. But seems quite promising. I surely want to see Rick Maue perform! Phil |

Haunted Magick is wonderful. I have had this since it was first released and still refer back to it from time to time. It was my first introduction into bizarre magic.
Also take a look at "The Book of Haunted Magick" by Rick which I believe has most (if not all) of the material from the two videos. |

Thanks sibbie, I have heard excellent reviews of the book too.
And I might just check the video out too |

Deceptions is one of Rick's best. Rick's thinking is amazing and inspiring. I would not hesitate to get all of his products you can' t go wrong.
For those who believe, no explanation is necessary; for those who do not believe, no explanation will suffice.

It's rumoured that a set of DVDs are in the work with L&L.
Unfortunately I don't have much other details at this point. Perhaps Rick can tell us a bit if he's checking the forum. Cheers. Andy |

The new L&L catalogs have pictures of Rick Maue in front of the set so something, I am sure, is coming along.

Greetings,
Yes, I did shoot material for a 2-DVD set with L&L, and it will probably be named Mental Deceptions. The release date is still quite a long way off, but as things get closer, I will update everyone. And if people like the mentalism DVD's, we may consider doing a HauntedMagick set as well. But right now, I am just concentrating on getting a few last minute things ready for MINDvention, and I hope to see a bunch of you there. Keep the change, Rick |

I'm glad to see these were finally released, Rick. Can't wait to see them (again) I was in the audience...must have been almost 7 years ago? But I remember thinking...wow great stuff...so congrats on their release!
