I just bought this effect and I think it's great. Expensive but well worth it.

I can't agree more. I found it used at a bargain price, but it's worth the money you'll pay for a new one, but don't buy it, and we'll keep it exclusive.

By the way, I've been a Monster Truck Commercial Announcer...it's not that big a deal...

Geesh, so many topics on The Lemon Game, so I decided to ask in this one...

I am really considering purchasing your Lemon Game.

I have heard GREAT things about it here on the Café for years, and finally may be able to afford it! =]

I just have a few questions.

The question that I REALLY need to know is this: When you cut the lemon open for the reveal of the bill, will the bill just be laying inside, or will it ALWAYS be sticking out of the lemon as in this picture: http://www.malloymodernmagic.com/images/lemons_bill.gif

Also, is the video that comes with TLG only in videotape form, or also in DVD?

Thank you!

Yes, Doug Malloy did a great job with this.
It is a fantastic routine.

Michael Close "A hunk of magic...Worth your serious consideration... A funny and amazing routine."

Jeff McBride "One of the finest products to hit the magic community. Absolutely Terrific!"

Dean Dill - " The most entertaining bill in lemon I've ever seen. And believe me, it fools magicians."

Tony Clark- "A blockbuster routine from beginning to end. A great way to add 7-10 minutes to any act."

Kevin James- "You won't get a lemon with lemon game!"

The most Logical and funniest Bill to Lemon there is, if you can do comedy magic.

I close the first half of my show with it.

I have also used it for our Ring 35 banquet, everybody loves it.

It is a great effect I use it in most of my shows, if not a bill I use a ring. You will not be sorry you got it.

Allow me to make one comment, only somewhat against the grain of this thread, concerning the routine.

Agreed, it's terrific, but an updated set of 'prize cards' would be most welcome! It does seem 'stuck in the 80s,' as a result of some of the graphics (have had this comment after performance). I 'camp' it up, but it would be nice to have newer representative images of the items.

You easily create the images in your computer, take the PDF to any office store and they can print them 11x17 or whatever size and laminate them. Look for images on the Interet.

Stan, I don't even have it, and I agree with you!

I wish Doug would make a selection of prizes that could be purchased as a 'refill' if you will, or just make them more up to date.

If you do make up some new prizes make sure that they are in black & white, not color.

You want the Lemon to be the only colored card for maximum impact.

It would be nice to upgrade my car as well, but sometimes you just have to make the best with what you've got and learn to live happily.

John does offer a very helpful suggestion in response to my issue; but I'm not sure I understand the relevance nor the point of your earlier comment, gmmagic.

It would be "nice" to have new things and upgrades on everything we own as the eras change.

And Yes, John's idea provides a SUPER solution for this particular upgrade.
I love it. It's great and economical.

Have you tried it out yet?

I have not tried to reproduce the cards as yet, but plan to. To pull this off properly, I will have to do a color copy of the back of the cards, as well (my set has a red design backing). Not sure if a scan of the cards will work, but I will experiment.

John's idea has me thinking about changing some of the prizes; which might include customized items for special performances (corporate, etc.) to provide even greater personalized impact.

On your other point, I do agree that some performance items have a natural life-span (the Polaroid camera "say cheese" bit, for instance). However, this effect shouldn't be limited by these images, and could greatly benefit from an update, should Doug want to take the time (unless I'm mistaken and he already has).

As I said in my original post, when I perform this, I have fun with the antiquated computer image, etc. However, if I bought this today and received the same prize cards in the set I own (which is only a couple of years old) I would have an issue with the outdated images.
