It made "only" $60 million on the opening weekend. In a discussion with the press about the disappointing results, Disney stated that it may have fallen short of expectations due to Americans following the World Cup. Unlike many (jealous?) people I rather wanted to see the USA do well in soccer; however, it's a VERY tough group - the Czech's last Monday and Italy tomorrow. I know nothing about it and don't give a rip for soccer (the only football I'm interested in has quartebacks, linebackers and punters), but I think I heard these teams mentioned on ESPN radio right before I took a phone call. For all I know they're already out of the tournament, but wouldn't it be impressive if I was somehow even remotely close?
