Hmm, after watching the clip, I believe the sales pitch is misleading. The first card named CAN be any card at all, but it sounds like the 2nd and 3rd cards can not be an absolutely free choice and the spectators has to be directed to certain groups of cards.

I don't know which clip you saw but I didn't notice any directing towards the spectators. I'm talkimg about the clip on the site of Alakazam.

I have been playing with this also and as I said in a previous post there has to be some kind of selection restrictions on the second two cards selected.
I totally agree with Stefan, what you see in the demo clip is exactly how it plays. There is the possibility of a problem (around 2 per cent of the time according to the DVD) but I have done this half a dozen times so far, each time went perfectly. Is this worth the risk, absolutely!! The DVD tells you what you can do if something goes wrong and all bases are covered.

I have an idea I have been playing with on this effect and was wondering if I could Pm someone my method and let me know if it would work or if similar to cataclysm. Thanks

Lol, I bought Trilogy a couple years ago and didn't like the fact of carrying 2 decks to accomplish one trick. I recently viewed the Trilogy Streamlined video and immediately knew that was the version that I will create and perform.
Cataclysm is more direct, making it a stronger effect. I performed it this past week at my regular venues. This week I'll perform Trilogy Streamlined, which will throw off anyone who remotely suspected the method of Cataclysm (as the backs are more freely shown). Rick

Hi guys, finally signed up to The Magic Café and thought I would throw my views in as it is me in the demo clip. I performed the trick many times prior to filming it for Alakazam. I can honestly say that not a single time did I have a problem with selection of cards. It works every single time. They name any cards the want to and then you fry them with the revelation. If the small problem that could arise in selection is enough to throw you from performing the trick then you have no place walking around and talking to people let alone performing magic.
Its practically self working and a total fooler. Im so glad I was asked to do this because its not something I would have gone out and picked up to buy. Althought to be honest I rarely by anything, but having been given this to do Im lucky not to have missed out on such a great effect! In answer to the other question floating around, Trilogy is good, this is incredible! NB/ One thing I should add is that I feel the overall effect can be slightly improved by taking the photograph yourself. In the demo video I use the supplied picture. For my own personal performances I laid down the prediction cards and retook the photograph on my mobile phone. Then went to Asda/Walmart and just bluetoothed and printed the picture on one of those freestanding photograph machines. To have what is quite plainly a self taken photograph for me enhances the believablity (did I just make up a word, that looks wrong?) of the effect and feels much better. |

I've just received my copy of this. I took my own picture, uploaded it to Tescos.com and have ordered a few copies. It's good to have spares of the picture, plus it means should I ever need more it;'s just a quick trip to Tescos to get them replaced.
It also means that I could potentially leave a copy of the photo with the spectators. If I only do the trick once on a night, or I do it for a group of VIP's then it'd be nice to leave them something completely examinable like this. I suppose I could get the picture printed on the back of a business card...? Rob |

I have the original release of this and wondered if it is worth getting the new DVD? Does it have extra information which would be useful.

You could easily take a picture of yourself holding the 3 prediction numbers and get 4"x6" photos made. Then place your contact information on the backs and give them away after performing Cataclysm.
Around here often you can get 4"x6" photos on sale for 10 cents a piece. |

Take a picture of yourself holding the cards and using the same shirt or outfit that you will be wearing for your performance.
Print out the picture in a regular sheet of paper. If you have a color printer is better of course. Now you cant tell them that you made the prediction and print it out one hour ago before the show. |

I like the idea of wearing the same outfit to take the picture.
