I was just curious what most people use for this standard gag. I've done this in comedy clubs for years as strictly comedy and really didn't use any different type of costuming. Now, I'm going to put it into a stage show and wanted to use some kind of outfit. I've seen that Kevin James has something available, but it's not really what I'm looking for. I have the routine, I'm just looking for costuming ideas. I thought of simply a cape around the performer with the arms coming through, but not sure exactly. I wanted the Café's thoughts.

I would have thought a good sized dinner jacket would be great. Take it to a seamstress and have the sleeves altered so you can put your arms through at the elbows. Pad the top of the sleeves to make them look like the arm continues upwards and just put the jacket over their shoulders.
I reckon if you have the openings to high it'll restrict your arm movements so elbows seem best. But using this idea it could be built into any sort of jacket, whatever suits your style. Mark
