I am not familiar with the tape you mentioned. Are you talking
about very low frequency sound (25 to 50 Hz) that is below the range of human hearing and is used to unnerve people? If so, I believe there are several available for use in the haunt industry. For example: http://hauntmasterproducts.com/5.html I am not sure it is what you are looking for, but I thought I would pass it along and see if it helped. Dave |

Probably not, Slim. You need a subwoofer to reproduce the sound, and few radios, unless they are part of a larger system, are capable of reproducing low frequency sounds.

What about that new ringtone? The one that most anyone over 30 cannot hear. I've got it as an MP3 and I cannot hear it, but my children (and dog) can hear it. It might work well if mixed in with other sounds. Some will hear it, others not...

I have that sound recorded and can hear it fine. It's just a 17kh sine wave. Nothing to write home about.
Oh yeah, I am over 30 too.

The CD 'The Monstrous Soul' by Lustmord contains these very low frequency sounds. I used to use it at our haunted house in Birmingham. It is also great for a seance. The chant starts off..."It is the night of the demon, it is the night of the demon..."
I think it is the most chilling 'music' I have ever heard. Here is their website: http://www.lustmord.com/discography.html Keith Hart

Also check Dr.Druids haunted record. Hard to find but worth the seance sounds.

The children's toy musical instrument sold under the name "Thunder Tube" makes some great seance-appropriate sounds. (You'd want to have them recorded, most likely, although an unseen confederate could just play the tube live.)

The Visitor audiotape is a product of Lary Kuehn, a/k/a T. Everett Bookings, a/k/a the Traveler. It is a recording of sounds only sensed by some. Lary's website is http://www.jewelpro.com and while it does not mention his seance products there is contact information there.

I was sent a cassette of Lustmord's the Monstrous Soul from a friend in England, and I agree with Keith Heart. I have a huge collection of Halloween, horror and atmospheric music (a book is in the works with the working title Horror Jukebox), and this one composition is probably the most disturbing of them all.

On the other side, the Lullaby on Rosemary's baby soundtrack, can be very disturbing too.

Using ITunes Radio, you can preview many different types of music and I've discovered that what is called Ambient music contains many tracks that are suitable for a seance. Also, much of this type of music contains whispered or softly spoken words or snippets of dialogue.

There are a few CDs of sounds generated by the planets in their orbits. (I suppose the frequencies are scaled electronically into the audible range). Some can be found -- along with other weird and not-so-weird sounds -- on a book/CD combination, "Pulse of the Planet" by Jim Metzner. It is published by The Nature Company, P.O. Box 188, Florence, Kentucky, 41022 (phone: 1-800-227-1114). BTW, I am not in any way connected with the company. There is also an audio tape from NASA, I think. I am not sure the tape is still available. The sounds are nothing if not weird.

Edward's tape was just a bunch of hisses and pops recorded at different intervals.
