Another question for everyone - what effect, in your opinion, is the stronger: the 3 phase mind reading effect from Bob Cassidy's Mental Miracles or the Tony Binerelli Mental Epic Note Pad effect?

I am not familiar with the specific Mental Epic Note Pad you are asking about. However, I am familiar with the basic Mental Epic effect. Comparing those two, I would have to say the Cassidy routine is stronger. Unless Binerelli made some HUGE changes to the basic Mental Epic effect, then I would have to say Cassidy probably is better than that as well.

PLEASE NOTE- I did say I am not familiar with the Binerelli effect, and so he may in fact have made some huge changes that vastly improve the effect. I am not trying to belittle the man or the effect.

They are both entirely different and will have a different impact on the audience depending upon which way they are presented and how. What works for one performer may not work for the other. What you need to do is read, study and work at both and see which fits YOU better. That is the only real way to tell.

I would agree with Paul here. They are two different effects (at least from the audience point of view) and also if the well known principle in the 3 phase routine is present in both, Binarelli method emphasizes the different numbering for all to see while Cassidy method does not bother with "proving" the correct numbering while he numbers the three envelopes. Also, unless Binarelli has improved his effect since I saw him doing it, his method involves a final force while Cassidy method does not involve any force.

You can also check for the Fortune and Fate effect (Lindan & Garrett) that utilizes the OTL principle to basicaly achieve what Binarelli does with his notepad version.
