Is it true different cards have different weights and thickness to them? or are they all the same apart from gimmicked cards of course.

thanks a lot -

Cards do vary in thickness, finish, stiffness...
... this will give you a quick idea: Finishes... any difference?

I love the Bicycle cards and the Tally Ho cards. I think they're the best.

Bicycle is what I generally use do to popularity, however, I have always liked the feel of Hoyle Cards better. Too bad most gaff cards are bicycle, kinda locks you into using that brand.

Good Morning --- I've found that most spectators believe that anything OTHER than Bikes must be "trick" cards - they are used to seeing those backs. Odd brands, store brands, etc. tend to make spectators think of "t.v. magic cards"..... Store brands are always cheaer, but they don't last as long..... I'll buy "Stud" or CVS cards for practice, but never for show.... Also, there are more gaffed cards available for Bikes, rarely for Tally-ho's, and never for Bees --- Personally, I find the Tally-Ho's are a bit more supple, they flex and bend better.... Try every brand to see what feels good, but always remember that your deck needs to be worked in ---a hundred or so riffle-shuffles both face up and face down, and a hundred or so springs should get them soft flexible:)

Card-iciously yours, Rich

I think Bicycle is the right choice.

You are right, you pretty much have to use Bicycle Cards to avoid being accused of using a "trick" deck. Which is ironic because most trick decks are Bicycle! I bought a bunch of cheap Dollar Store cards and actually like them! Double Lifts are a breeze with these cheapies!

I love Bicycle cards. They fan well and are durable.

I'm using the bicycle cards right now, but I'm thinking about switching to something a little more unique. I can always let them examine it.

I like Bee's for the simple fact that we can talk about how 'hypnotic' the backs are =)
