Magic Makers Inc. has just come out with the Absolutely Amazing Wallet! It is a Rip Off copy of the Ken Brooke Absolutely Impossible Wallet. They only changed one name in the title. Suggested retail is $65.00 but you should be able to get them for $36.00 or less for some dealers.
To bad we do not have a way to stop this sort of thing. Stevens Magic should be rightfully upset as well as Paul Stone in England. |

I just saw a demo of this wallet and realized you don't even need a wallet to accomplish this effect. It just looks like an old effect with an unnecessary wallet addition.

Mr RT is not the only one to knock this off from Ken Brooke.
I have a very old model from a dealer not too far away from my city. The ORIGINAL instructions are so bad, they look like a very poor cyclostyle copy. |

Maybe its just me thinking like that but it takes the heat off you know what.
Just a bit of psychology. It makes the handling and L*****g easy as well. Whether to use a g*******d W****t or not is a diffrent matter. Don't forget that the trick comes from a diffrent era and its been knocked off and fitted in todays times. |

...What a load of claptrap! If you must use a wallet at all, then use the Solari version.

I agree about the wallet though. Whats the point. Just leave the envelope on the table till needed. This trick has been shouwn on so many DVD's. Never saw it done with a wallet though. (I am assuming this method is the obvious one, however). Jeff |

I purchased the Ken Brooke wallet for this effect from Stevens Magic Emporium. The method used in Magic Makers demo is NOT exactly the manner that the effect is accomplished with the Ken Brooke wallet. I suspect this is how Magic Makers slides by with their product.

Then I stand corrected. But that begs another question...why spend money on a special wallet when you can do the same effect, as far as the spec sees it, with just an envelope? If someone showed me this in person I would just assume they did it the easy way - the way it has been taught in books and videos since I can remember. I would be no more impressed if I was told it used a gimmicked wallet. To me it would still be the same ol' envelope on top of a stack of cards with matching card inside that even many non-magicians know. Jeff |

I agree with you, Jeff. If I remember correctly, I learned this trick in Annemann's 202 methods of forcing. The method might be different in some way but you could do the exact same effect with an ungimmicked wallet and envelope. Or pretty much the same effect.

It does have a flaw, as the opening to perform the move is not correct and thus makes it difficult to perform easily. The wallet is nice leather but made on the cost cutting side. By that I mean slits were cut for the opening for credit cards, not separat pieces of leather sewn onto the inside pockets. It only comes with one routine, were as the Ken Brooke model comes with 2 or 3 routines and one is a great comedy presentation. |
