What do you think of this effect?

I purchased this effect earlier in the summer to take the place of a signed bill to lime. I was performing for a company for the fourth year in a row, and had already had a signed bill appear in a wallet, lemon, and lime in years past. I used the Cupoodles effect and was quite pleased with the response.
I peformed a show for the National Guard Association and had the signed bill appear inside a condiment bag, inside a plastic MRE (military field ration unit). If anyone has ever struggled to open one of these, you can imagine how impressed the military members in the audience were. I also got the Silencer that they try to package with this and was not as impressed. You may have already heard that they are the same gimmick. I have yet to use the Silencer concept. Hope this helps. Michael |

I don't like it.. I would rather make something go into a lemon... or bill tube or something else.. a cup of noodles just seems to "trick".... but... if it fits your persona go for it.

It is still on the market and to be honest I love it. Just performed it last night and audience went wild. I used a card but a borrowed ring is pretty amazing also. It can also be so many other items other than noodles. I'm thrilled with mine

I have yet to use either of them. But the silencer seem to me to odd....I think there is a better way of doing something in that content...But for Cup Oodles....it is quiet easy and ingenious....One of these days I will use it.

Hello Folks,
I have been using Cup O Odles for 3 years now. Ever since it was released. The pluses is it Wows em. You can use it for almost any small items into almost any sealed package. My Favorite being a box of Barnam's Animal Crackers. It depends more on performance skills, of course that depends on you as it is much more of a gimmick than a prop. The Minus The silencer is worthless. save your money. Its an interesting idea but way to limited. Very hot days make Cup-O_oddles a challange. Practice the effect in real world situations and you can work around the problem. Just my 2cents worth Phil

I purchased mine from HOttrix and I never did anything with it. I don't know why, but I never even tried it. I ended up selling it at last year's IBM local ring annual auction to Daryl Easton.

Hi guys,
I see that Silencer seems useless. I bought it already! Darn! Anyways, over all do you guys think this is worth the price? How often do you guys use it? How long is the preparation? Thanks Philip |

Well I think it is useless as well. There are many other ways of doing it that are more understanding and visual then the silencer.

What about a Rattle Box, or a Pull, or a Retention Vanish? I made a "Ring Bag" once out of a felt bag that used to have polished stones in it. I cut a small slit on the backside of the bag, the bag must have the right "stiffness" to not appear cut when handled normally. I hold the bag open, let them drop the ring in, I pull the drawstring, turn the bag upside down, to show it's trapped, allow them to feel the ring still there. Upon turning the bag rightside up again, on the back of the bag my finger pushes in the slit, as the ring slides back down to the bottom of the bag, it slides into my palm, escaping the bag. I allow them to hold the drawstrings for the rest of the illusion. Later, to show the ring is vanished, I ask them to squeeze the bag while I hold the drawstrings (keeping the slit toward me). Homemade, I know, but it worked! |
