I've seen this before. I think this guy is supposed to be some comedy master in Japan and has been doing this for years. I myself would watch for someone in a striped coat and be prepared. He would get killed over here!

It's the fact that they are expected to be respectful and nice that makes it funny. Even if the guy didn't get his head handed to him in Jersey, the concept just would play over here!
