This is a plastic material that becomes mealeable at reasonably low temperatures - in boiling water, for example. This becomes like silly putty while it's hot, then sets hard as it cools. This means you can mould a clip around your coins while it's hot and soft, and even add a hoop for a pull. Jon Allen used to sell this as Fantastic Plastic (in fact he sold me my first packet for exactly the topic we're discussing here). It's useful for loads of things.
