I had the chance try out the color change waistcoat in front of live audience last week and it was a hit. They were amused on how the color changed so quickly. Good product, Lee.

That's great news Roy!

I am very happy that you have been able to develop this and place it into your act so soon.

Here's wishing you plenty of success and many more hits!

Who wont to performe Quick change must to make for him because the size, is very personal costume!
Gloves a tie or other intem It's Only a Beginning, but very far of "costume change".
I do not see the professional performers (big stars) of costume change sell and elaborate clothes for professionals who want to preforme.

Hello all,

We have just launched Chameleon Fabrications and you can find the advertising link here on the Café.

We have put out a line of quick change items (as well as other sewn goods that may be of interest to you) that we hope to expand upon. We are currently examining the creation and marketing of a full tuxedo change gimmick that can be adjusted to fit various body sizes. All of our gimmicks are fully adjustable to meet certain size ranges and body shapes.

Our goal is to provide a line of professional change gimmicks, and other sewn magician's goods, that are reasonably priced and quality made. Please feel free to drop by and have a look. We'd be happy to answer any questions you may have.

All the best,

Rob

Thanks for the support magicdoc and Paulo, I hope you like what you see.

The quality that Pat puts into these things is really amazing. She tried to cover all the angles about ease of use and adjustability to suit all different body types. And the look is deceptive, right up close.

We have been using the various gimmicks in our shows for a number of months now in resorts, casinos, fairs, theatres etc... and I can tell you, when Pat goes from a tuxedo to an evening gown in under 2 seconds using a cloth hoop, it gets a big gasp followed by a huge round of applause every time. They never see it coming and it really does fry them, as the saying goes.

In one series of shows, Pat and I do a double (mirror image) dove routine where we both are producing b**y l**ds. The routine is the opening 10 minutes of the act with the finale of the routine being Pat stepping into the hoop, me lifting the hoop over her head for a one count and then lowering the hoop and she has done the complete costume change illusion. She had been wearing the gimmick like regular clothes the whole time. We can do that one totally surrounded and up close.

All the best,

Rob

Video really looks amazing.
But do you also have the tux to dress for sale, or do you plan to? I must admit that's the most impressive part.

Hi Johoo,

Glad you like it. All 3 of the changes are done with a different version of the same gimmick.

Hello again,

I realize my last post is not as clear of an answer as I intended. So if you'll permit me, I'm going to try again Smile

In the video, everything you see done, is being done with the same gimmick. The gimmick comes in 3 versions: a shirt and tie, a black tuxedo combo and a red tuxedo combo. You can find them here
http://www.chameleonfabrications.com/cgi......epro.php

The video shows 3 of the many possible things that you can do with the gimmick, including the tuxedo to dress.

All the best,

Rob

Hi Rob,

The shirt change looks very similar (if not the same) as something described in the book "Quick Change" by Lex Schoppi. Are there any differences in the method that would warrant this not being a copy?

The video clearly shows the method through your shadow when you duck behind the table.

You have certainly done a brave thing by attempting to provide "one size fits all". In general costumes need to be fitted precisely to make them look great on stage, and in order to function properly.

The hoop looks similar to something that is patented to a Russian act. Have you consulted with them on this?

You claim in your show that the change takes less than two seconds, yet in the video it lasts four seconds - why should there be such a discrepancy?

Are your items sewn to order or do you have them "off the peg"? ýf they are sewn to order how long does it take?
Yours Magically,
Lee Alex

Hi Lee,

Perhaps the 2 seconds is optimistic. The video is simply a demonstration and not a performance video. I will concede that in the demonstration it is closer to 4 seconds to change from the tuxedo outfit to the dress.

I have been in contact with Lex about the concern you raise. I am aware of his colour change shirt and our product is not the same and I pointed out the differences to him. I have not heard back from him, but hope that he found my information helpful in determining that our product is not an infringement on him.

Although our product can be used to do a colour changing shirt, it is actually designed to be much more. I do not want to give away all of its secrets here on an open forum, but the same gimmick design is used in all 3 of the demonstrations given on the video.

As to the one size fits all, we have created 2 sizes range products in each of the 3 versions of the gimmick. They are quite adjustable in 3 areas, neck, waist and torso length. The adjustments can be done as the gimmick is being put on and takes perhaps 1 minute or less to do so. The design has nine points of fastening, 5 of which are also used to adjust to size.

The gimmick is sold as a unit and the hoop is used for demonstration only in the video. We do not sell it as a routine, however we would sell someone a hoop and a change gimmick if they choose to use them in combination. To the best of my knowledge, however I would stand to be corrected if it is the case, I do not know of a cloth hoop being patented for any magicians' routine. The hoop curtain seems to be a fairly widely used utility prop in a fair number of magician's act and I believe it would be difficult for any one act to lay claim to it.

Anyway Lee, we are not trying to create difficulties with any one with our product or products. We are confident that we are not infringing on any other creator of similar products. We welcome discussion and dialogue with any one who may have concerns and will take the time to answer them within an appropriate time frame.

As to the shadow, ya, I see that now. I will be more careful in the future.

I do wish you all the best and hope that you will see that we not in violation of any person's property.

Thanks for allowing me to respond,

Rob

Hi Rob,

I was not accusing,or trying to point the finger, merely asking a couple of questions.
I think you have done the right thing by contacting Lex Schoppi (Sven Schoppenhauer). I am sure he will respond when he gets a moment.

Rob, what about the time it takes to make, or are these already made-up and sold as standard?
I assume that te tuxedo can change to any dress?

Lee Alex
