Well Neo, maybe the folks in Lebannon who caused this in the first place can behave themselves.
Glad they are on their way Doug. Steve V |

When I was in Cyprus they made us stand in a square painted on the asphalt (they don't do this to civies) in the open. We stood there for over 12 hours waiting for our plane to show up. We asked where the restroom was and the pointed to a pile of rocks that the tide would roll into and clear out...the officers had a plank they got to hide behind for their restroom. Good times. Heck, if I was them I'd go for extra credit at school for going through it!

Doug, great news that they are on their way home! I could have used the 16 year old when I was negotiating for a car over the weekend! Instead of stories grandparents have to tell grandchildren, the grandchildren have stories to tell grandparents!

Great Job on the part of 16 year old. I am really glad it is working out for them.
You must feel VERY relieved. God Bless.

You got that right! Can't wait to hear it! I'll get my Blanky ready. "Steve V <---wants to leave his wife to become Dougs student" Geez don't do that...I get those offers all the time...though usually from the wives.

Excellent news Doug - I am VERY glad to hear that they are safe and on their way home! I am sure you are going to give them the biggest hug you have ever given them when you see them next time. I am very happy for them and for you.

The Girls...(Please read yeterday's Pygmyland Herald Blog...I hate to repeat myself)
Anyway, it turns out that the 'boat' the Girls talked themselves on to (and now this makes sense of it all) was a Greek Warship! As if the Greek Navy, Officers and Men would have turned down a great looking 16 yr old American girl in need? Anyway they got their own quarters and wouldn't you know it, while the 7 yr old caught up on rest the 'other' one (not using names here) was invited to spend a couple of hours up on the Bridge, with the handsome Officers, learning the 'ropes' of running a sophisticated vessel. (It's the Higley charm I tell ya) They were the only Americans on board amongst the evacuees. They were brought to Cyprus...now get this...picked up in a Limo by the American Embassy and taken to a NICE Hotel Room while awaiting a flight to the USA. I don't have all the details yet and will wait till I get my LONG awaited phone call to hear it from the participants but darn it if don't beat all...Higley's just seem to have a knack for creating silk purses. (That was a big grin)

That is wonderful news, Doug! When they return, you are gonna HAVE to tell us their story! It might be one of those cases where truth is stranger than fiction!

Doug...I was being polite so I didn't mention that sailors love welcoming 16 year old girls onto ships. If the US fleet knew she needed a ride the guys would have had tin cans there quick as a bunny.

Thank you for being polite. Fortunately the Greek Naval Officers were too.
