Richard Hatch is a gem of a fellow and a genuine God send to those of us who are constantly searching for stuff that has been out of print for a zillion years. He has a literal treasure trove of tough to find out of print books, notes, manuscripts, etc. He also has a very sweet selection of the very best of the new stuff. For that reason, it is no surprise he would carry Cellini's book. This book is going to be very important not just for buskers but for the history of magic.
In no other time in history has so much information been available on busking. A lot of it has been put out by people trying to make a quick buck but some of it is done by those who walk the walk. Jim Cellini, Eric Evans, and Bill Palmer, are just a few who spring to mind immediately. All guys who do or have done a table act that is completely scalable, circle or doorway. The ability to do both is where the strength of magic lies on the street. When the jugglers have to go home because a bucket drummer set up and killed four circle pitches a magician can fold his table and bring his stuff down the street and work a 10 minute sidewalk show and still make the money. I am very excited to hear about Jim's new book and can't wait to see a copy. If it were not for Jim Cellini I wouldn't have had the tools to get started on the street. Pick up a copy of his first book as well. Just great, great, stuff. Best, Dan- P.S. The art of street performing DVDs are an awesome investment as well.
