Are there any UK dealers that carry this item? Are there good and bad versions of this item? Prices range from $134 - $199 any recommendations?
(sorry mods I had no idea where to post this question) |

I don't know anyone who carries this in the UK; however, the original one was constructed by Doty for Howard Flint. It is based on Robert-Houdin's Inexhaustible Portfolio.

I saw this in an Andrew Mayne book which told generally how to construct it.
Hope this helps. Cody |

It's not difficult to make. I saw Howard Flint do it at the IBM Convention in Houston back in the 1980's. After the show, I went up to him and said, "I like the briefcase. It reminds me of the Inexhaustible Portfolio."
He said, "You are the first magician I have met who knew about that trick. Yes, that's it. Doty did the real work on it, though." Since then, it's been prettied up a bit.

Follow it up with the new bowling pin production and you have a nice little routine...

I always loved this effect, always brought great looks from the audience.
And then letting the ball drop, wowwww |

There's an older book out there that details how to construct one. I'll see if I can dig up the name and let you know.
If you're handy, this will be easy to make for you. It will take you about 1/2hr -1hr to make. Best thing about it (aside from the price of the bowling ball), is that you can construct it with about $20 in materials, AND, you get to decide what briefcase/attache case you want to use. I highly recommend Andrew Mayne's version where you produce a bowling ball from a paper bag that is freely handled and spun to show it is empty. Looks great and is super easy to do. You need a paper bag and a bowling ball and that's it. The way it is handled, you'd swear the bag was empty.
