So when's somebody outside of the Bay Area (or even in the Bay Area) gonna realize that NY and LA aren't the only places for magic anymore. As the internet keeps making the world a smaller place, it's also getting democratized (the net's buzz word.) In turn the world is becoming a HUGE place with options and space for everybody! Including our amazing and diverse SF Bay Area.
Jay's got more shows planned for this year Paul Nathan's back with Devil in the Deck. Fred Anderson's Magic and More Big Al, RJ Owens and Adam Sachs: Absolute Magic David Hirata's Holiday Magic Show (hoping to see grown up stuff from him soon...I mean that in a good way.) Gerry and Cal Magic J.S. at the Warf Big Al at the Pier Walt Anthony, David Miller and Brian Scott (sorry show title escapes me) Christian Cagigal (that's me...) opening Now and at the Hour after going to NYC Kay Tracy's Bizarre Convention-Odd Gathing March 2009 Dorian's Golden Gate Gathering for our talented flickers Magic Garage in the San Jose Area (never been but heard it's fun) Jon Pon Misdirections Magic Shop (an important apex for all of the events and people to connect. There's power in connection and numbers this forum is proof) Jim Fassbinder: The San Francisco Ghost Hunt Walking Tour-not a magic show but it's got magic in it =)One could call it a slightly Bizarre historical walking tour and it's been running almost everyday for the past 10 years. Alex Gonzales came out of Joe Pon's Stage Competitions and now is the STAR OF RINGLING BROTHERS AND BARNUM AND BAILY CIRCUS! NO KIDDING! I'm sure I'm forgetting somebody right now... But all of this to say... We have a lot to be proud of here in San Francisco and I just want to acknowledge it. C

Thanks Christian. Both shows are sold out for this Sunday! Please come to my “Magic at the Symphony” show on Sunday, March 1st. I am really excited about this show. I have been writing a lot of new material with the conductor. You will see floating violinists and a Whoopie Cushion symphony. It might not be classy but it is funny!
At the Herbst Theater. Please come, I have a 1000 seats to fill. Jay |

First Tuesday in March we'll be doing a workshop at the Oakland Magic Circle on Story and Magic, and talking about the new show a bit. Congrats Jay on having 1000 seats to fill at the Herbst! Heads Up Everyone,
I don't know how many of you noticed Ronin's posting... Wayne Houchin is coming to Martinez this week!!! A lecture and performing Onstage at California Magic. I don't know about the rest of the Magicians in the Bay Area, but I'm looking forward to hearing what Wayne has to say in his lecture. I think he's one of the few truly influential Magicians out there today. Also, if you have never seen a performance at The California Magic Dinner Theatre, come on down and see Wayne perform. If you have been before, it's Wayne Houchin, what are you waiting for?! |
