OK, What do you do,
when you have a showcase to demonstrate your talents and skills… and then it works so well, all the cast members start getting bookings that conflict with the showcase running? Panic. Celebrate. Both? That’s the new wave for “Eccentrics of San Francisco’s Barbary Coast” now in our third-month! http://www.sanfranciscomagicparlor.com/entertainment.html |

Yes one day it would be nice to have a staff to handle the producing duties and/or make enough where gigging wouldn't be needed at all =)
Hey Bay Area Gang, Just wanted to share another review of Now and at the Hour http://www.edgesanfrancisco.com/index.ph......id=91514 show info and tickets at http://www.theexit.org or http://www.christiancagigal.blogspot.com You could see TWO magic shows in one neighborhood in one weekend! Hec you could see three shows if you went to Magic and More at SF Playhouse on Sunday nights. You Bridge and Tunnel folks might want to rent a little room with the spouse in Union Square (I think Walt could recommend one) and make a whole weekend out of it. All three very different shows =) C

Hey Greater Bay Area Magi!
If you have Comcast check out the local magazine show Inside City Limits. For the next couple of weeks you'll find a 3 minute segment on "Now and at the Hour". Also, check out the Datebook Pink Section of this Sunday's Chronicle, there should be a picture and write up of the show too! (Okay it may actually be in next weeks, I'm not sure. And, it's a photo of Pandora and not this show but I'm small time and I'll take whatever the hell I can get.) And, of course, don't forget Walt's show is playing just a few blocks away at Union Square. What a great way to make a weekend out of seeing magic and theatre. Stay at the Chanceloir Hotel and see Walt's show Friday night. Saturday Day: take the N-Judah Muni train straight to Joe Pon's Misdirections Magic Shop! Hang out! Then train it back to Powell walk up to Taylor and Eddy to see Now and at the Hour on Saturday night! Stick around after the show and we'll get a drink or a milkshake around the corner! C

Carol Channing and Friends! In San Francisco July 18th
CAROL CHANNING returns home to San Francisco “where she belongs” in her first appearance after having to cancel late last year due to a broken leg. Joining the Broadway Icon and San Francisco native are… the bawdy Carole Cook (the world’s second Dolly), International Chanteuse-Dangereuse Joyce Aimee and the Magical Styling’s of Walt Anthony for an unplugged evening that follows a simple format— Carol offers memories, humorous storytelling and, of course, several of her signature tunes, including "Diamonds Are a Girl's Best Friend," " Little Girl From Little Rock" and, of course, the title song from "Hello, Dolly!" that brings the audience up close and personal with the Ultimate Broadway Baby. A benefit performance for the Dr. Carol Channing / Harry Kullijian Foundation for the Arts, working to bring the arts education back into California schools. Saturday, July 18, 2009 at 7:00 pm PST Tickets $25 to $75 (VIP Section) McKenna Theatre San Francisco State University Creative Arts Building 1600 Holloway Avenue, San Francisco, CA Reservations at: http://www.CityBoxOffice.com |

The words SOLD OUT are magical words for a performer to hear!
But, we also hate to disappoint any potential guests at our Parlor.... last night we didn't even have standing room, so why not reserve early and visit the "Eccentrics" next weekend? http://www.SanFranciscoMagicParlor.com And please don't miss Christian's "Now and Again" just a hop, skip, and jump down the road from us, may he have sell-out crowds as well. Viva The Magic! Walt |

So....
Who you all voting for in the Bay Guardian's "Best Magician" category? Yes, there IS one this year! Don't let Robert Strong steal it again! http://www.sfbg.com/bobpoll2009/

Gaddy, Robert has every right to win in the magic section. It is the other categories that are questionable.
To make things fair, vote for Jay Alexander. http://www.sfbg.com/bobpoll2009/ |

I caught Chin-Chin’s show last Sunday,
almost got to Magic & More, but got sidetracked ‘till next week, want to see Now and the Hour in its final form when we have a dark night. Too much magic with too little time! Vote for Christian AND Jay to cover your magical bases for the Guardian. Walt |

Wow! San Francisco Chronicle’s “96 Hours”
ran a full page for “Eccentrics”! On page F - 16 of the San Francisco Chronicle http://sfgate.com/cgi-bin/article.cgi?f=......E26Q.DTL 'Eccentrics of San Francisco's Barbary Coast' Source: sfgate.com Magician David Miller says that he usually prefers to "find the magic, find the piece," discovering a new piece of magic and then figuring out how to work it into a show. Hey SF Area buddies,
This weeks SF Weekly has a little review of Now and at the Hour. http://www.sfweekly.com/2009-07-08/cultu......he-hour/ And the SF Bay Guardian made us one of THE Weekly Picks. Here's the write up! (Not a review but a great write up!) STAGE Now and at the Hour Christian Cagigal is on a mission to retrain your brain. After seeing Cagigal's show, the words "adult magician" will no longer trigger the image of a bare-chested Criss Angel looking moody and windswept in the Las Vegas desert (put away the guyliner, Angel — nobody wants it!). In Now and at the Hour, Cagigal combines illusion with theatre as he shares how the relationship with his sometimes-troubled father leads to a life-long quest to create magic. As the story gets more complex, so do Cagigal's illusions — and before you know it, he's looking through an old Stereo-Scope and reading your mind. Prepare to be spooked. (Victoria Nguyen) 8 p.m. (continues Fri–Sat through Aug, 15), $15–$25 EXIT Stage Left 156 Eddy, SF (415) 673-3847 http://www.theexit.org
